The Outlanders with their waterproof uppers and 4mm deep lugs will give you incredible traction, whether you’re snowshoeing through mountain powder or trudging through mucky slush in town. Live somewhere very wet (we’re looking at you PNW)? The gusseted tongue keeps the tongue completely attached to the boot, preventing moisture and debris from coming inside the shoe. We also took the same breathable, waterproof liner from the Waterproof Boulder Boot to keep water out so your feet stay dry and warm.

A spacious toe box coupled with a zero-drop platform will have your feet dancing on the trail, because these natural foot-shaped hiking boots allow you to move in proper alignment, just as nature intended.

Now, for the toughest decision of all: Which colorway will you choose? Evergreen, Blue Steel, or Iceberg? All three are beauties designed with inspiration from Mother Nature herself.

FULL RUBBER OUTSOLE WITH ZIG-ZAG SIPING

This sticky rubber outsole incorporates 4mm deep lugs for incredible traction on snow, mud, and everywhere in-between! The built in zig-zag grooves (siping) provide additional biting edges to cut into ice/snow and helps ground your feet in slippery situations.

100% WATERPROOF UPPER

With its fully waterproof membrane and gusseted tongue, the Outlander will keep your feet dry and warm, especially after a day on the slopes or slogging through slush on your way to the bar!

ZERO-DROP

Places the forefoot and heel close to the ground correcting posture, aligning your spine, and encouraging mid-foot strike.

WIDE TOE BOX

Unlike traditional footwear that squeeze the toes together, our foot-shaped toe box allows for maximum room giving the toes ultimate freedom to wiggle and spread.

Reviews Summary
Customers say these boots are exceptionally comfortable with no break-in period needed and feature a wide toe box that accommodates various foot shapes. Many appreciate the lightweight feel despite their rugged construction and waterproof performance in snow, rain, and wet conditions. Users frequently mention excellent traction on diverse surfaces including ice, snow, mud, and rocky terrain. The boots keep feet warm and dry during extended wear and harsh weather conditions. Common sizing feedback suggests ordering a half size up from normal shoe size. Many reviews highlight the boots' versatility for both outdoor activities and everyday wear, with users praising their stylish appearance. However, several customers note issues with the laces being too short and slippery, making them difficult to tie and keep secure.

designed with care, the description is misleading regarding fit...

I’m sorry to give so few stars to a shoe that was clearly designed with so much care and to an awesome company like Lems. Having worn the Primal Zen, I noticed that the Outlander was similarly described as “true to size” with the “widest toe box,” so I ordered the same size. However, due to the inner lining of the Outlander, the toe box doesn’t feel nearly as spacious. I hoped it would break in after a few days, but even after wearing them in, the toe box still feels restrictive, and unfortunately, I can’t exchange them due to usage. The shoe itself is great, but the description is misleading regarding fit.

Also, keep in mind that this is not a barefoot shoe—the sole is as thick as a regular shoe. That wasn’t an issue for me, as I needed extra insulation for the winter months, but you won’t be able to feel the surface as you would with the Primal Zen or other barefoot shoes. Additionally, the laces need to be re-tied frequently, as they don’t hold tight.

No what i thought they would be

It’s nice to get something and enjoy it more than you thought. I was not expecting the comfort and durability. Not to mention the overall light weight of the boot. Definitely will wear these out and not hesitate to purchase another pair! Will not be my last purchase!

3 starts for quality control, but 5 star for product design and comfort

The show is excellent, eventhough slightly loose, very comfortable and I didn't need my orthos.

Normally I use barefoot shoes and sandals to train my feet and posture, go rucking; so was very interested a barefootish wide toe box shoe that can take me on iffy hikes and demanding terrains.

So far this boot has delivered all of that. Feels rugged but very light compared to my oboz. Great design. So far user experience wise excellent.

The reason I am giving this (or the company) 3 stars is because the left shoe came with a crease or mark over the metatarsal to toe area. I initially thought that it was a crease during manufacturing and it will level out, but no its still there. Minor defect, but should have been caught by quality control.

Still very impressed by lems. Do better in inspection before sending products out to customer.
