The Outlanders with their waterproof uppers and 4mm deep lugs will give you incredible traction, whether you’re snowshoeing through mountain powder or trudging through mucky slush in town. Live somewhere very wet (we’re looking at you PNW)? The gusseted tongue keeps the tongue completely attached to the boot, preventing moisture and debris from coming inside the shoe. We also took the same breathable, waterproof liner from the Waterproof Boulder Boot to keep water out so your feet stay dry and warm.

A spacious toe box coupled with a zero-drop platform will have your feet dancing on the trail, because these natural foot-shaped hiking boots allow you to move in proper alignment, just as nature intended.

Now, for the toughest decision of all: Which colorway will you choose? Evergreen, Blue Steel, or Iceberg? All three are beauties designed with inspiration from Mother Nature herself.

FULL RUBBER OUTSOLE WITH ZIG-ZAG SIPING

This sticky rubber outsole incorporates 4mm deep lugs for incredible traction on snow, mud, and everywhere in-between! The built in zig-zag grooves (siping) provide additional biting edges to cut into ice/snow and helps ground your feet in slippery situations.

100% WATERPROOF UPPER

With its fully waterproof membrane and gusseted tongue, the Outlander will keep your feet dry and warm, especially after a day on the slopes or slogging through slush on your way to the bar!

ZERO-DROP

Places the forefoot and heel close to the ground correcting posture, aligning your spine, and encouraging mid-foot strike.

WIDE TOE BOX

Unlike traditional footwear that squeeze the toes together, our foot-shaped toe box allows for maximum room giving the toes ultimate freedom to wiggle and spread.

    Comfy, but falls short

I bought the Outlander waterproof boot for a hunting trip in the mountains. Before the trip, I was very happy with the comfort and roomy toe box—I would have rated them five stars just for everyday wear.

However, once I was out in the field, I realized the boot is not truly waterproof. Walking through wet grass allowed moisture in, even without crossing streams. In addition, the traction on the sole is disappointing. I found myself slipping noticeably more than with other brands, to the point where I started avoiding certain trails for safety.

Overall, I’d call this a comfortable boot for casual wear, but not a reliable waterproof or high-traction option for serious hiking or hunting.

Put these through their paces and i like them

Sized up a half size - never done that before but needed to for these boots. Just returned from 51 miles outside Jasper, AB, Canada; 9350’ up and down. 35ish pound backpack. Shoulder season. Some snow, mud, rock, scree fields, steep ascents, steep descents. These are new so can’t comment on durability but waterproofing works well, footbed is as good as it gets, traction is solid, and lacing system is … ok. Boot would benefit from a cam like Salomon uses so you can independently tension the forefoot from the upper. Got a little shin bite from laces. Footbed really is great, though. Nice balance of foot protection and ground feel. And boots are noticeably light for a WP shoulder season boot. Im quite happy with these.
