Favorite boots
These boots have been my staple footwear for winter! I wear a size 7 but had to go up to a 7½ in the Chelsea boot. Love the stretch on the ankle, can fit my foot in and still fit nicely on the ankle.

I want to love these more than I do
I usually wear barefoot style shoes, and wanted something for everyday use that could take me through Rocky Mountain winters and wet weather with a bit more protection from the environment than most barefoot shoes provide. I already have a Chelsea boot from a different brand that I love that I wear most of the year, it’s just not suited for cold wet weather. So waterproofing and sole grip was important to me, but I also wasn’t looking for a super technical shoe. I knew these were more of an “in between” style shoe that are not quite barefoot but are wide, lightweight, and flexible soled to get closer to the barefoot benefit, which I was into.
Firstly, I wish I had spent more time investigating the difference between these and the newer Tuff version. I do not find the grip on these very good in light snow, which was my primary desired use for them, and it looks like the Tuff’s sole might be better suited.
Secondly, sizing. I have 26.5cm feet, low-medium volume. Had I gone with their measurements, I would have gotten the 10.5. This seems to be my new usual size since going barefoot in recent years and my feet stretching out after having fit into 9.5-10 before that. However I followed recommendations and sized up to 11, as I’ll only be wearing these with medium thick wool socks for colder weather. They felt good in the toes but a bit too big volume wise at first, so I changed out insole with a sheepskin kind as I do for the cold weather. This helps, but they’d be too big if I…
