Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

RUGGED RUBBER OUTSOLE

The full rubber outsole features 4mm lugs for incredible traction both on and off-road. The built in zig-zag siping helps dissipate water and maintain ground contact.

Almost Perfect, all it says, just not very wide
This is almost exactly the shoe I want to use daily, especially hiking. It includes almost everything I love about barefoot shoes without the things I don't. It combines an excellent thick hiking boot outsole, durable breathable suede upper, zero drop, and it looks like a normal mulitipurpose sneaker.
Zero drop, wide toes, and minimal/no arch support are essential for me, so I'm very grateful for the barefoot shoe movement, but I'm sick of painted socks with almost no protection above or below. It can be great to feel the full sensory experience, but that's often too much, so I love that Lems created a shoe for barefoot lovers that still want a normal, protective shoe that happens to allow proper foot alignment.
The shoe lives up to the hype overall, everything you've seen in video reviews is true. The construction has a premium, durable feel, just like everyone says. I really do love so much about this shoe.
Unfortunately, this just isn't very wide, and will disappoint many in the barefoot community. I had hoped Lems "widest" would provide a zero drop competitor to Keen, but this last is more narrow. My foot is a paddle shaped 4e width (double wide), and many barefoot toe boxes are comfortable. My favorites are Splay and Barebarics, this is definitely not as wide. I can't wear Keens anymore, since the traditional support improperly tilt/hurts my ankle. So, I had hoped Lems would provide a flat competitor to Keen, but the Trail Thrasher's toe box is not as spacious.
