Great Grip!
I LOVED these shoes the moment I put them on. They are just what I've been looking for - a hiking shoe with a more substantial tread than the Primal Zen. I wore them hiking for three days in the desert and they had a super grip on the boulders and the sandy paths. I like my Primal Zen shoes for everyday wear and my waterproof Boulder Summit boots for my northwest winter outings. TheTrail Thrashers are a perfect in-between shoe and I'll be wearing them for most of my hiking.

FABULOUS SHOES
I Absolutely love these shoes. I wish I had 10 pair. They fit great. I did go up half a size. The most comfy shoes straight out of the box. Buy them, you won't regret it!!

Love the color, even more in person! Using them for my walks around my neighborhood. Trying to switch to these types of shoes for my painful PF on my left foot. Only issue I have is that for some reason, my left shoe, towards my toe area where the shoelace starts, it tends to dig in. I can feel it when I walk. On and off I feel the discomfort unfortunately. They are very strict with returns/exchanges so I know they won’t honor an exchange, sadly.
