Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Comfy light and sturdy
Fit comfortably right away - love the toe room and sturdy tread. Walked through a lot of damp and hilly ground on recent vacation and the shoes and I both emerged none the worse for wear

True to size, comfortable with no break in time
Bought these Trail Blazers as one of my first pairs of shoes with a wide toe-box. I have a wider toe box but narrow heel so it’s hard for me to fit traditional shoes, and decided to get these from Lems mainly to use while taking walks in the woods on dirt trails, sandy soil, and boardwalk. I figured these would be great with zero drop and room for my toes to spread. I’m normally anywhere from a women’s size 7-8 depending on the brand. I planned to wear these with socks and went with the 7.5, and luckily they fit perfectly. They were comfortable right off the bat with little to no break-in time required. The toe-box was actually more narrow than I expected - I definitely have more room than my old big-name running sneakers, but I’m unable to fully spread/stretch my toes all the way, so I wonder if I could have gone up to the size 8. They have a bit of cushion and tread so I wouldn’t call them barefoot shoes, nor do they claim to be, but they would be good for transitioning to barefoot. One note on the color - I got the Juniper color and some photos showed the inner collar as black (what I wanted) while in others they looked navy blue. IRL they look like a very dark, near-black navy so that’s okay with me. Overall really liking them as an alternative to the traditional running shoes that were squeezing my toes, and would explore more Lems options in the future.

Improved fit
This show was comfortable from the first wearing!
I had ordered an earlier version of this shoe, and it wasn’t as comfortable. This version has better elevation in the top of the toe box which gives a roomier feel. Thanks!
