Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

My New Sandals
I saw these on the Huckberry site, but what i wanted was sold out, so i tracked down the Lems site and found that there were even more colors including the ones i eventually purchased called Sandstorm. I love them. I was worried that the metal buckles would dig into my feet, but they do not. I have been paid various compliments so far including that my sandals look like: something boy scouts might wear, what an ancient Greek soldier might wear, and what Jesus might wear. I want to get every color, but i am exercising some self-control. A guy's gotta eat. But seriously, i feel like a boss every time i put them on.

A really great, comfortable sandal!
I've always worn Teva sandals, but always had an issue with my little toe getting rubbed raw. This "flip-flop" style sandal fixed the problem! I wear the Primal Zen mostly when walking, but during the summer like to wear sandals and this show is a great walking shoe for me. As with all Lems -- for me anyway -- size is an issue. I wear a 10.5 typically in just about every shoe. But had to go to a 11.5 in the Primal Zen. Likewise, with this Switchback Sandal, the customer service person suggested an 11, but it was definitely too small. They don't come in half sizes so I returned the 11 and and got a 12 -- fits great. So my suggestion is to definitely size up! Other side note: Not sure if these are adjustable or not -- they seem like they should be, but you don't receive any information with the shoe. Fortunately for me they fit fine as is, but I have to cinch them down as far as they will go. This is definitely my new summer go-to shoe!

Love these sandals
I got these sandals for when I’m backpacking and want to take my shoes off but I’ve gone camping with them and the soles are amazing! I’ve climbed down rocks to go finish, I cannot rave about these sandals enough!
