Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Great Shoe / Different Sizing
Let me start by adding that this has always been a 5 star company for me. I have never worn a shoe for 7 years in a row, nearly on a daily basis, and the quality of the shoe is still in surprisingly good condition. The wear on the sole and insole is what you’d expect after a year for normal shoes. It’s that good.
Fast forward to me finally purchasing a new pair to learn that they updated their sizing without offering a a new smallest size offering to match the previous sizing: I know they were previously know to “run small” but now I can no longer fit into their size 6, as it’s too big, and a size 5.5 was not introduced. Truly only an issue for me, or other small feeted people, but it makes me extremely sad because this is my ultimate favorite shoe brand. I’ve been a die hard fan since they opened and to not be able to fit into their new boulder boot everyday its going to be bit tragic.

My second pair of these
I wore the others almost out and needed a new pair for summer walking/hiking. I ordered a half size up this time so that I would have more room for thicker socks and I am very pleased with the comfort and fit. I am 74 years old and try to walk 1.5 miles a day as I continue to recover from 5 surgeries in the last 6 years (4 of them orthopaedic). These are keeping me going comfortably! I own at least 8 pairs of Lems. Thanks!

So comfy
I am an outdoor education teacher and take 25-30k steps a day hiking with kids through all sorts of terrain. These hiking boots are a lifesaver. They are waterproof and cute and can be worn with anything. No more back pain from wearing heavy, tight, clunky hiking boots. These rock!
