Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Best boot I've ever worn
Only just switched over to the barefoot game with this boot in November, '25, and after quite a few wears now, I'm still astonished. I have never in my life been so comfortable in any shoe, and it was bliss from the moment I slipped them on. I haven't even put on a slipper as comfortable! I can't say there was even any need for break-in. I feel very well supported, am experiencing wonderful feedback, my toes are free to grip, spread, and bend, the leather is supple and moves with me, and the ankle support ensures my feet don't slide forward and crush my toes. I have many issues with foot and toe pain, alignment, and instability in my pelvis, and whenever I'm hiking a trail in these, my gait evens out, my balance stabilizes, and any pain I usually experience is reduced. And, not that fashion is my goal, but they do have a ruggedly stylish look, perfect for my northern California area. I'm in boot heaven, and I very much have my eyes on some Thrashers next!

Good looking boot, not as grippy as advertized
I bought this boot as I loved the looks and was hoping for a waterproof hiker.
Very comfortable on my feet. However, took a nasty fall backwards crossing an icy street.
Would not recommend for slippery or icey conditions.

Favorite boots yet
Just bought my first pair of Lems and unexpectedly took them on a month-long Grand Canyon Colorado River winter rafting and canyoneering trip. They were immensely comfortable, warm, durable, stable on rocks/boat/mud/sand and out performed any shoe I’ve ever had. Absolutely a fan and Lems purchaser here on out.
