Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

FULL RUBBER OUTSOLE WITH ZIG-ZAG SIPING

This sticky rubber outsole incorporates 4mm deep lugs for incredible traction on snow, mud, and everywhere in-between! The built in zig-zag grooves (siping) provide additional biting edges to cut into ice/snow and helps ground your feet in slippery situations.

Better than expected!
First, let me say, I *love* these boots. I purchased another, super well known brand a few months before my recent trip, but I immediately knew I couldn't wear them. I've been wearing shoes with a wider toe box and zero drop too long to go back, to a more confined shoe. Now we're down to the wire for our trip, and I need boots! My husband sent me a link to these shoes, and I loooooved the look. The description said waterproof, they have great tread, and the color/style is very me.
I ordered them, and they arrived with 3 days to spare before our trip. When I put them on, I was honestly a little worried because there was so much room and I was afraid they may slide around too much for hiking. I adjusted the laces a littlw, and wore them around the house for longer trying to get a feel for them - they were super comfortable off the bat, I just wasn't sure I would like them hiking. My husband convinced me to keep them at least for a casual shoe so if they didn't work out for the hiking on our trip, I could still have them for around town this fall/winter at home.
LET ME TELL YOU. These boots are amazing. Waterproof as advertised, awesome traction, and I never once thought about my footing if them on the hikes that we went on during our trip, and I really tested them on one hike. I will absolutely be buying more from Lems. These boots are awesome: they look great, feel great, and there was no break in time for me. If you're on the fence, try them - best boots I've owned.

Best shoes ever!
My husband and I bought these shoes for our honeymoon to Iceland and it was the best purchase we did. Theses shoes traveled the entire country and were put through many hiking miles through harsh conditions and extreme weather changes daily. They kept our feet dry and warm in snow and rain. At the end of every day we raved about how our backs and feet felt amazing. We are both buying more.

Didn't even need to break them in
Such a comfy and well-fitting boot that withstood a week right out of the box of strenuous hiking on long and steep rocky paths while also being flexible enough to let my toes stay free while my arch felt secure. I have narrow feet, so this is always a challenge, to get the laces tight enough and leave the front of the foot with space -- I love these boots.
