The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.

Great Boots
Love these boots! As with all of Lems shoes these are sturdy yet pliable, attractive and functional. I own many pairs and am happy with them all. I need a wide toe bed and these are the only brand that met my needs. My feet thank you!

Great winter boot
I have a pair of Chelsea Barefoot Waterproof boots, and was looking for a winter boot that could deal with snow, ice, mud, cold. I hemmed and hawed about getting these, because I wasn't sure they would do the trick - and who needs 2 Chelsea boots? (Hehe - apparently me LOL). I read all the reviews, looked at all the Lem's options, and just couldn't get behind laced-up boots. I love the ease of pulling on the boots and getting out the door. So I went with these, hoping they would work.
Some reviews of this Chelsea Tuff Waterproof mentioned that the toe box is more narrow than the regular version, and that is true - side by side, the toe box is different. That has not affected me at all - regular socks or thicker socks, my toes have had plenty of room to move. In the regular Chelsea Waterproof, if I put on thicker socks, my toes feel a little uncomfortable, which is why I sought out a winter boot. I ordered the same size in each boot - I'm normally a 6.5, and I bought size 7. So go up a half size.
The day the shoes arrived, we got snow, which turned to mush and then ice. I could really feel the difference with these soles in terms of grip and also insulation. The faux fur cuff keeps any breeze or wetness out.
The shoe is stiffer than the regular Chelsea waterproof, and the sole is chunkier. But like its cousin, it does not require a break-in period - it was comfortable from the moment I put them on.
