The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Improvements on previous model
I’ve had 2 pairs of the previous chukka and decided to get the new version. I noticed the new version is a little larger than the previous, I would recommend ordering a half size smaller. The new cork insole is a lot more comfortable than the old foam one, and there is more padding on the ankle and tongue. They seem to be a bit tougher, I haven had any issues with the material deforming, like I’d did with previous models. The one thing that I feel is most important is, the term “grip” should be replaced with “slip,” these shoes are not grippy on wet surfaces, I’ve learned to walk slowly on moist-wet floors, even concrete, having almost done the splits a few times. I feel these are good shoes and would recommend them, just be careful on wet surfaces.

Appear to be of good quality and are comfortable.
These shoes appear to be of good quality and are comfortable. I wear them in a business casual work environment that will require some work in the field. The durability will be tested as they are exposed to the elements in a realistic manor. I put beeswax leather condition on them and they darkened up nicely. I will consider other lem products in the future if these turn out to be worth the additional cost. I scuffed one up on cement stares and it buffed right out with beeswax leather conditioner and a horse hair brush. Only negative about them is they make a swuirk sound while walking still.
