Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Perfect knock around shoe
Like putting on a pair of socks . Some of the best shoes I have had in years and I am 71. I hope they last.

Solid, but prefer primal 2 toebox
I just wore a hole in outsoul of my primal 2, so time to switch to primal 3. Overall, pretty similar and I’m relatively happy with the new model. I like the modifications to the outsole, the wider heel is nice. I’ll probably wear these until they’re burnt out.
My two minor complaints are:
1. The shape of the toe box is a little different and disappointing. Particularly around the big toe, it feels narrower and a little constrained.
2. The version of primal 3 I bought has all mesh interior, which slides around on your sock a little more. The new aversions look like they’ve got a suede lining, which I like.

Nurse review of Primal 3s
I have been wearing Lems no-rise shoes for years now and could not be happier. As a floor-nurse at a hospital I am on my feet for most of a 12-hour shift several days a week. These are my work shoes. While I can't say I have no foot pain, I can say that I have fewer complaints than other nurses who rotate between Hoka, Dansko, and all the "cushy" shoes trying to find a good feel. With weak ankles and a history of plantar fasciitis, I like to have my heels flat and the soles of my feet in good contact with the ground. The last day that I complained of foot soreness was over 20,000 steps.
