Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Great shoes… but they run small so be careful!!!
I love these shoes. I needed a boat shoe for a destination wedding I was invited to. I am normally a size 10 so I ordered size 10 and 10.5. I didn’t have time to switch out the 10.5 for an 11 and they felt good so I took them on the trip. Two things I noticed after wearing these for a week. 1. Go at least a full size up and if you have extra wide feet you may want to go higher. 2. These are their mid width shoe but aren’t really that wide for a “wide toe box shoe”. I learned that after getting a few blisters on my pinky toes. I have a pretty narrow foot but I’m used to topo athletic sizing which is generous and comfortable. The good thing is they are leather and if I get some shoe stretchers they will probably work out. The reason we come to Lems is for low stack wide toe box shoes that give you room. These would benefit from an update in sizing but as far as the look they are spot on. I can’t comment on durability at this time but they seem solid. Hopefully this helps future customers. Cheers!
