Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

FULL RUBBER OUTSOLE WITH ZIG-ZAG SIPING

This sticky rubber outsole incorporates 4mm deep lugs for incredible traction on snow, mud, and everywhere in-between! The built in zig-zag grooves (siping) provide additional biting edges to cut into ice/snow and helps ground your feet in slippery situations.

Favorite Boot!
I have been using Lems for years and now they are the only brand I will put on my feet. I have always loved the original Boulder boot, but this has taken it to a whole new level! I live in the High Rockies and the summit was the perfect upgrade with the tread on the bottom. No more slipping on the ice and snow. The boots are so comfortable and more importantly, they are durable. Every pair of Lems that I have owned are high quality and last a long time. Can't recommend these bots enough. Do yourself a favor and buy a pair of these.

great boot right out of box
easy to get on and comfortable right out of box. these boots are warm yet can get too warm in warm indoor environments. I have not experienced cold winter temps yet. the wide box could be wider as these are still tight against my feet. where the toes meet the feet bone. that is my feet though. However they are still better than the standard narrow boots from elsewhere. love them so far.

Minimalist fit, but still feels like a proper boot.
Most minimalist boots, crush it on comfort, ground feel, and flexibility, but leave a bit to be desired on foot protection, grip, and true weather resistance. These bridge the gap between both worlds; between a traditional hiking/work boot, and the minimalist free foot style boot. This means giving you more of the feel of a boot sole, without sacrificing flexibility or completely losing ground feel. It really is the best of both worlds.
My previous Lems leather boots are still kicking, and have a beautiful well-earned patina. So, I am excited to see how these ones age!
Sizing note, they are a tiny bit narrower than some of the other shoes/boots I have tried from Lems. I don't mind since they're leather and should be able to break-in, and they're used on more technical trails, so a bit snugger doesn't bother me too much with these.
Great boot, happy with the purchase for sure!
