They are just too narrow. They will break in but it will take time. Otherwise they are great.

Great hiking shoes
I've been wanting Lems hiking shoes for awhile now, as my last pair were from a different brand and I found them to just be way too heavy and clunky on my feet. I am a Lems fan, having owned several pairs of their everyday walking shoes throughout the years. The trailheads are great and I recommend them to anyone looking for a pair of cute and light weight hiking shoes. I got the size 8 and they fit perfect. They are wide enough, roomy in the toebox. I don't have wide feet but sometimes I order wide sizing for extra room. They say in the description these are not meant for people with wide feet. So just know if you have a normal width foot, these are great, they don't squeeze on the sides at all. Nice traction on the bottom. Love the colorway. They are mesh uppers so not waterproof, but I wasn't looking for waterproof as I am just a casual hiker and don't typically hike through water or during wet weather.

Sized a smidge too small
I was so excited about my Lems trailheads but then they arrived they felt just a smidge small. But it was hard to tell if it was really small or just that my heel wasn’t pushed back far enough. So I made the mistake of wearing them for a week. After the week, I decided yes my right toe was sore and hitting the front of the shoe. But by then I couldn’t exchange them. They’d been worn. Such a bummer.
