    Really comfortable and warm

Have only worn a few times since the weather just turned cold. These shoes have a nice wide toe box without feeling like a clown. It’s warm and cozy. Hope they work well throughout the winter!

Thank you for making this boot

I wore my Breck Boots for the first time yesterday on a winter hike in New Hampshire, and I am so happy to have them. They are so comfortable. I have been searching for a pair of insulated, waterproof, and barefoot winter boots like this for at least a year. I ordered my regular shoe size (US women's 6.5) and they fit me great both with and without my thicker wool hiking socks. Thank you so much for making this boot.

Throughout the hike, I walked through many inches of water, mud, and slush at lower elevations and lots of snow and ice at higher elevations. The temperature was 20-30F, and these boots kept my feet completely dry and warm without trapping moisture. The traction was great when walking on slanted wet rocks. They are compatible with my microspikes (see image) which are used for added traction in snow and ice.

I have been hiking in a pair of Oboz winter boots for years because of their 400 g insulation and waterproof features. While they have always hurt my feet, I could not find a barefoot option with enough insulation to replace them. When I saw the Breck Boots, it felt like a great choice for my feet, as I wear a pair of Lems Primal 3 sneakers almost every day. For anyone in a similar situation, I would highly recommend the Breck Boots. The insulation seems comparable to the Oboz boots so far, and the built-in traction is better. The side zipper is a thoughtful and convenient touch as well.

I am so grateful that this boot exists. I love winter hiking, and…

SO close - PLEASE make a non-zip version!

These are so close to being the perfect wide toe box winter boot, but the inclusion of the zipper really knocks it down a few stars for me. Even if the zippers themselves don't leak (haven't thoroughly tested that either way, so hopefully they don't!) they create a weak point in the boot that is more likely to break or come unfastened then a standard lace-up design. If you insist on using a zipper, it could really benefit from a snap at the top so that the zipper is less likely to split while walking. On my first walk with them, one of the zippers came halfway down on its own without me noticing it. I really hope that's not persistent issue.

I understand the zip was put there to make them easier to put on, but they would be perfectly fine to put on without it and a BIG improvement for more rugged environments and active use.

Other than the zipper, they're pretty much perfect and an exciting addition for "barefoot" style shoes in general. They're well insulated, generous toebox, zero drop, look nice, good quality leather, decent tread, and (at least claim) to be waterproof - and I've had good luck with Lems waterproofing in the past.

I really hope Lems can come out with a non-zip version for TRULY bomb-proof wide toe box boot. A high quality leather wide toe box winter boot was a big hole in the wider toe box/zero drop shoe market, and y'all are SO close!
