RUGGED UPPER

The upper is made of durable materials that stand up to the abuses of trails, and also daily wear and tear.

MOUNTAIN-TO-TOWN OUTSOLE

Engineered with a low profile rubber tread that combines the best of both worlds: ample traction on trails, AND excellent durability on pavement.

LOW HEEL DROP

With 4mm of drop, compared to the traditional 12mm of drop, the Trailhead naturally decreases heel-striking for a more natural gait and healthier posture.

FIRM CUSHIONING

When your foot is on too soft of cushion, you end up with pain and discomfort. We've formulated a firm EVA midsole that'll keep your feet happy all day long.

Reviews Summary
Customers say these shoes offer exceptional comfort for daily wear and hiking, though sizing runs notably small. Many reviews mention needing to go up a half to full size larger than usual. The shoes earn praise for their durability, with several customers reporting pairs lasting years of regular use. While most appreciate the fit once properly sized, some note the toe box could be wider. Frequent comments address their versatility for both urban and trail environments. Reviews highlight the shoes' lightweight feel and quality construction, though some mention the price point is high. Many customers become repeat buyers, often purchasing multiple pairs in different colors.

Looks great and feels very comfortable.

I got the right size which is 11. I normally wear 10.5 Nike and On Running. So, if you’re that size, size up to 11.

Anyway, when I got the pair, I was surprised to see how light it was. I stopped being skeptical when I put them on then walk around with it. No break-in, cushioned, good lacing and no pressure point. I walked an extra 2 miles around my hilly area and it felt great. The soles are grippy.

Would I use it for PCH super trail? Nope.

Would I use it for a short hike around Muir Woods or Golden Gate Park? Yup.

Are they ideal for Bishop hike up to the next boulder with a crash pad on my back? Yeah!

Is it good for shifting while driving a 911? Of course.

I love how it looks too. Retro 80’s. I might as well buy another pair when they’re on sale. Golly, I’m cheap.

An AMAZING concept and color in a narrow shoe

The shoe is nice. I quite like it. However it is very difficult to size correctly and you will very likely have to size up... like a lot. My foot measures 27.8 cm with socks on which I would've thought would be a solid 11, you know, a little extra length for comfort. 11s didn't work, so I tried 11.5 and they didn't work either. I ended sizing all the way up to a size 12 which their site rates at 29.3 cm long to get a pair that fits correctly. Mind you they aren't big, they aren't floppy, they fit correctly.

They're more narrow than I'd like, but... I suffered for fashion as the shoe itself looked so cool and the stormy night color is just perfect. If they made this shoe in the exact same dimensions but just... widened, then it would be my life shoe as I love the look. Note that I do not have a 'wide' foot at all, The Brannock device usually puts me around a D arch. My biggest problem is that my arches are so comically fallen they produce a suction cup sound and the slightly tapered arch of these shoes is very noticeable.

The grip is great and the quality is superb, I think I've owned it for just over a month now and it's been a good shoe minus my gripes. I've opened up the toe box a bit by skipping the bottom eyelet for lacing and it's helped dramatically.

So, should you buy them? Hard to answer. They're really good shoes no doubt, are they barefoot? No, are they flexible? A bit yeah but not as much as my old Primal 2's. Would I buy them again? Probably because I really…
