Perfect surprise for my shoe snob of a husband :-)
My husband always buys me the best surprise birthday/Christmas gifts. Because he is such a shoe snob I can never surprise him with anything. He has actually been looking at some Lems boots but they have been sold out. I was trying to find his boots when I came across these sandals. Since his birthday was at the end of April I was glad his boots were sold out (we live in South Carolina and he couldn't have worn the boots til fall anyway...so I'll be on the lookout as soon as the boots are back in stock)! I surprised him with these and he loved them. The colors, the fit (which he is very picky about...he also runs between a 10 and an 11 and can go either way. I bought the size 11) and the feel! I finally surprised him with something he didn't know he was getting!!!! Thank you for a great product!

Most Comfortable Sandal Around
These sandals are easily the most comfortable I have tried. I hesitated with them because of the toe post that post did take me some time to get used to. I did try other popular brands of sandals. All of them returned. Lems are so much more comfortable than any of the four others I tried and they’re incredibly light. The straps are easy to adjust to get the fit dialed in for whatever activity I am doing and they feel completely secure on my feet.

Good, With Caveats
I have been wearing bedrock sandals for 5 years, and wanted to try out Lems new similar sandal. I use bedrocks for everyday use, as well as hard long hikes, in rough terrain; and in the month I have owned the Switchback, I did the same.
First of all, they have been comfortable, and easy to get on and off. I cannot comment on lasting durability, but they seem well made. I was not particularly excited about the food bed texture, but I don't notice it while wearing them, and it does not bother me.
The things I don't like: I was very excited about the strap adjustment, the simple heel strap seemed like a great solution, and I do find it comfortable. The problem is that it does not stay put - over the course of a week of regular use the back strap will loosen, and your heel will be hanging off the back of the sandal. If you are doing moderate hiking (we hiked up a volcano in Sicily) the strap will loosen over the course of a few miles. This is a very different experience from the very similar bedrock sandals. Also, because of this loosening and changing strap position, the buckles stains the straps, so as they loosen, and then get tightened, the strap gets discolored over a half inch or so, making them look dirtier around the strap area.
I reached out to Lems and told them about my issues with the sandal, what I liked, and how the loosening was a real problem because of constant adjustment, I asked if they thought this was a problem with my particular pair, or something…
