Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

RUGGED RUBBER OUTSOLE

The full rubber outsole features 4mm lugs for incredible traction both on and off-road. The built in zig-zag siping helps dissipate water and maintain ground contact.

Best Shoe Ever
This is not a paid or fake review and I didn’t even get a discount for writing this.
I am a nurse, a mom, and an animal owner (one lab-mix dog and three cats). I also have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which means that all of my joints are so loose that it causes me regular injuries and constant pain. I switched to zero-drop shoes back when there were very limited options on the market because my orthopedic specialist recommended it and that’s all I’ve bought since. I got my first pair of Lems back in 2022, so I knew of their brand and kept them in mind when buying this new pair.
I waited anxiously for these to drop and I am SO HAPPY that I snagged them when I did. I was looking for an every day sneaker that I could wear walking the dog, on the concrete floors of the hospital, or out on the trail (when I get the chance). The trail thrashers came in the same week as I ordered them and they were so beautiful. They give me cross-breed vibes between Air Force ones and DCs (from back in the day). I’ve worn them almost every day for a week and I am obsessed. They are a little stiff (to be expected because they’re new), but they’re already so comfortable right out of the box. I don’t have knee or hip pain at all after a long day of wear, nor do my feet hurt after wearing them (any more than they hurt after a normal day - thanks to the EDS). Consider order 1/2 bigger
I love the look and feel, however I’m considering exchanging for 1/2 bigger. I wear an 8 in all my shoes but this one feels a little snug on my big toe.

Runs 1/2 size small
I wear 7W in New Balance, Nike, etc. and ordered a 7 in these. They are too small overall even with a thin sock. I'm exchanging for a 7.5. I have a pair of Lems Boulder boots in 7.5 and always thought they were a bit too long so that's why I ordered a 7, but I guess I am a 7.5 with Lems. Otherwise, I like the shoe. I think they are stylish and conventional looking. My intention is to wear them for regular life as a mom and small business owner. I would also like them to be good for running and walking with my dog but I don't know if they'll be good for trail running or just walking since I didn't take them out of the house. Also, the Lems website doesn't really outline which activity they're designed for so that leaves me a little confused.
