Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

WIDE TOE BOX

Built on our Wide Natural Shape Fit, this slip-on style allows your toes to splay naturally. The Malibu features increased volume in the vamp/toe box area compared to the Laguna.

ZERO-DROP

Places the forefoot and heel flat to the ground correcting posture, aligning your spine, and encouraging mid-foot strike.

CORK FOOTBED

By adding an ultra-thin 0.8mm cork top layer, your foot will be feeling the benefits of natural coolness and comfort, with or without socks.

Lots of promise
I bought these owning a number of other Lems shoes and really loving them (trailhead, boulder summit). I keep coming back because I love the fit and style. The one weakness I have found is the durability of the soles - particularly with the trailhead and my boulder boots seems to be fairing much better. The soles on the smiling have me a little nervous but time will tell. Otherwise th fit, look, and comfort are all as I’d hoped. For many years my summer go to where Chrome slip ons but the narrow fit was never great. These were the promise of the perfect replacement, and I hope that’s how things turn out.

If I had only one pair of shoes......
These are so comfortable that they are the only shoes I have worn since I got them. They seem to run a little large but that is ok . I live everything about them.

Good for Toes
These have a wide toe area which I need due to big toe bunion (toe bent in from wearing typical tight-toe shoes all my life). Toes have more width and are much happier now.
Remainder of shoe is normal width so my foot doesn't slide around in the shoe. Shoe tops are soft canvas and they are comfy with or without socks. Soles have reasonable traction. Had to go up one size to 11-1/2 because length of shoe is shorter than normal. So far so good!
