Featured:  2014 BACKPACKER GEAR GUIDE

Weighing a mere 9.9oz (Mens size 43), the Boulder Boot is arguably the lightest boot in the world. The upper is made of 1200-denier nylon and a durable leather. The whole boot is completely collapsible, great for stuffing into a pack during a hike and wearing around the campfire afterwards. There's absolutely nothing to this boot, no heel counter, no shank, and nothing stiff that would irritate the foot. If a barely-there boot is what you're in need of, look no further.

FAQ's

Q: Is it waterproof?
A: No it's not waterproof.  We chose to leave out a waterproof membrane  because they sacrifice breathability.  The upper is treated with a DWR water-resistant coating.  When this begins to wear off, we suggest treating the nylon and leather with a spray on Scotchguard, Nikwax, or something similar.
Q: Is it vegan like the original shoe?
A: No, because the Brown colorway uses full-grain leather.  We are coming out with a Black colorway in October made of all vegan materials.
Q:  Returns?
A: We accept returns for 45 days.  For exchanges we will actually ship out the replacement free of charge.  See our Easy Returns page for more info.

Featured Testimonials

I recently tested the Boulder Boot on a 62-mile hike through Glacier National Park.  You may be asking yourself, "If you do not market the Boulder Boot as a performance hiking/backpacking boot, why would you post a review of the product on a 6 day hike?"  Confidence - that's why.  I was confident that the Boulder Boot would be able to withstand everything a 180 lb frame with a 50 lb pack could throw its way. And I must say, the Boulder Boot not only withstood the abuse, but it far exceeded my high expectations.  Here's the link to my full review full review.

Rating Perfect Boot
i ordered this expecting it might take some getting used to but as it turns out, they're great straight away. (i guess this is because i normally wear skate shoes and they don't have much arch support etc) so i recently took them on a long walk round the peak district and they were great. i will probably now get another pair of a different variety

I have used my pair of boulder boots to walk around town, on the beach, and around camp after a day of hiking. They are extremely comfortable in all situations. These boots are great!

Rating Fantastic.
I bought these a few months back and wore them through a Minnesota winter and in and around my business. My back pain is far reduced, my feet are alive, I could go on. I intend to wear these through the summer and into next winter as well. While I crave minimalism, I would immediately buy a slightly more robust version of the same boot, with ever so slightly tougher materials all around...but if not, I will buy this exact pair when these wear out.

Rating Great shoes
Got my Boulder Boots a few days ago and really like them. First pair of non-running minimalist shoes and they fit and feel great,. I especially like the toe-box design. Thanks for a great boot.

Chose these for a trip to Amman, Jordan. Temperate climate and not a lot of walking required. 1 week into the trip we got 18 inches of snow! Of 5 men on the trip I was the only one not to get my feet soaked, Lem's doesn't say they are water proof, but they sure worked great for me. I'm sold on these and will be trying their other styles soon.

Rating Love these boots
I have been been looking for a minimalist boot for a while, and where these are not true barefoot, these work wonderfully for my needs. They are warm, but you might want thicker socks in colder temps. Also, I am a 10.5 wide, and went with the 45 (US 11)...so glad I did. The boot fits perfectly, like it was tailored to my foot. Cons would be the tongue for higher water resistance, and I feel the sole could be a bit more "grippy".

Rating Did i just put shoes on my feet?
love them! the feel of the sole blew me away, as i don't really like wearing shoes on a normal day. I have always relied on feeling on the bottom of my feet when bush walking or tracking; these shoes give me a massive advantage.

Rating Great shoes
Great shoes, what shoes were meant to be. After wearing and loving other minimalist shoes, five fingers, minimus I began to look for a pair of that I could wear to work. These boots exceeded my expectations, I would recommend them and I plan on purchasing other LEM products.

Comfortable boot that is compatible with Correct Toes toe spacers. The sole is quite flexible allowing your foot to feel the ground and conform to it, yet also protecting the foot from sharp objects. My foot measures almost exactly 13 and the size 14 (48) JUST BARELY fits. Take that into consideration when ordering.

Rating A worthy addition
These boots are great, wear them with jeans more than any other barefoot sneaker I own. They are comfy, like wearing a moccasin that has the high support of a wrestling shoe. Overall I couldn't be happier. The only trade off is the sole does not have a deep rugged grip for heavy hiking. Not a big deal since they haven't seen too much trailblazing.

Rating Awesome!
So this may not be what LEMS or most folks are going for, but what they have done with the Boulder Boot is almost make the perfect hunting shoe. Something I've been envisioning for a while: a mix between new and old, the great things about modern shoes mixed with moccasins basically. I could get pickier (waterproof would be nice) but really this boot is great for deer hunting. And I can't believe a shoe company actually makes shoes that fit my feet lengthwise without squashing my toes!

This is the most comfortable boot I've ever found. I've never cared for any type of footwear besides flip flops. However I live and work in a wet cool climate. These boots have done a great job of keeping me warm and dry without any added gimmicks.

I am new to barefoot soles and am now a convert. Lightweight, flexible, stylish, and like wearing slippers. Have been searching for a long time for a long time and stumbled onto these after extensive googling.

Rating Not water resistant
I got the Boulder Boot because I live in a rainy climate and do a lot of outdoors activities. I was disappointed that my feet got wet very quickly when I walked in some wet grass. They are definitely not water resistant. The boots are very comfortable in dry weather. But, you don't need boots in dry weather.

Rating Exceptional fit, superior comfort,
I've been looking for something for backpacking, camping, and all around winter(ish) wear. These fit the bill perfectly! After reading a number of reviews on people taking them backpacking, I decided to go for it! The ankle support is fantastic, the fit seems to cradle the foot somewhat. There aren't any stiff spots that could irritate or constrict the foot. I'm sure that after some more break-in, they will only become more comfortable! You've secured a life long fan!

Rating Comfortable Out of the Box
I wear my Boulders daily (I walk 5+ miles per day). Pros: 1. Length was right on 2. No heel drop 3. Works for business casual 4. Very comfortable right out of the box 5. Doesn't look as feminine as most minimalist shoes 6. Good barefoot compromise for cold weather Cons: 1. The pull strap above the heel tore - not strong enough 2. The nylon upper above the toe frayed almost immediately 3. I have wide feet, and these shoes are snug widthwise
