Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

RUGGED RUBBER OUTSOLE

The full rubber outsole features 4mm lugs for incredible traction both on and off-road. The built in zig-zag siping helps dissipate water and maintain ground contact.

Actually Great Biking Shoes
I was pleasantly surprised when I first did some riding with these shoes. I was initially skeptical, not a lot of the reviews on the website at the time of purchase mentioned anything about biking, but the reviews that I saw online from bikers were fairly good. Before this, I rode with 5.10 Freerider Pro shoes, and always felt a little squished in the toe box, especially after switching my daily shoes to wider toe box shoes. These seem to be as stiff as the Freeriders (I could not really notice a difference when riding) and they were far more comfortable. I did about 30 miles of riding in the St George, UT area in the course of 2 days after buying these and could not believe how well these rode. I would say I am an intermediate to advanced rider, and I did not do any major jumps or features otherwise, so I cannot speak as much for their performance with that type of riding yet, but for pedaling and the very active riding present in the southern UT area, I was pleasantly surprised and these will be replacing my Freerider Pros for the foreseeable future.

Excellent for both commuting and singletrack
I have extraordinarily wide feet for my foot length (9 US, 42 EU) and finding shoes for bicycling has been a significant challenge. I'm probably at the extreme side of wide for my shoe size, and my experience is a reflection o that. I'm a long-time Lems shoe enthusiast and knew I had to try out these Thrashers.
On the Bike: Excellent grip on flat pedals from various brands, and a sole stiffness that suits on and off bike well. The sole allows some articulation and natural foot movement while walking at the same time it reduces flex during pedaling, increasing efficiency. The shoe body and design cradles and retains my feet nicely such that I don't feel like it's sliding around or being mashed into the toe box.
Off the bike: I can ride in to work (9.5 miles), wear these all day on my feet (bicycle mechanic), then ride home another 9.5 miles without issue. These do well on easy to moderate hiking trails both by way of grip and ventilation.
Fit Thoughts for my foot shape: I have a 4 out of 5 rating due to the overall fit compared to other bike shoes, and the other Lems shoes that I own. I have very tall arches and a high instep, and this created a lot of pressure on the top of the foot from the shoe. I removed the insole which helped significantly, but I would have preferred to keep one in for the health of the shoe over time. Again due to my foot shape I needed to loosen the laces quite a bit to allow the top of the shoe to open wider, which has left me with pretty…

Style and comfortable performance
These shoes are my favorite design in the lems catalog. They look great with everything. Also the comfort and support of this shoe is above and beyond my expectations. Lems really hit a home run with the new thrasher. Absolutely mind blowing!!!
