PRIMAL 2 VS. PRIMAL 3 OVERVIEW

Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Perfect Fit
My fourth pair of Lems, so I am not surprised that the Switchback Sandal is the perfect fit. Can't wait to get them out this summer season!

Yesterday
Finally!
After years of wearing LEMS exclusively for all daily wear, I have been CRAVING a sandal as well. I've tried Xero Shoes' offerings (do not recommend, neither shoes nor sandals), Teva, Oofos, Chacos and have always found myself wanting for something more. If it's not my foot rotating on the sandal, it would be a high arch causing pain, or anterior prominence getting caught on surface cracks, or some other naggle that kept the experience from reaching "perfect."
I think I can say now that I've found my perfect sandal. From a perfectly secure fit, to the tectured/tactile platform, to the single point of closure/tightening, down to the colorways. I've bought 2 just in case and so long as these continue to be made, I will have them on my feet. Well, at least when I'm not wearing my Primal Zens, Chukkas, Drifters, Chillums, etc...
I may have an addiction.
One note, I'm an 11.5 in most, if not all, LEMS styles. The recommendation is to size up if between sizes. I would recommend getting both one size above and below a half size to try out. I ended up preferring the smaller size so that I don't have to deal with the anterior prominence issue. I like the tips of my toes right at the edge of the sandal - I trust my body's proprioception more that way, knowing right where the end of my foot stops.
