    Great Comfort

Posted by Dave on Apr 26th 2017

My massuse recommended tghat I do something about my 75 year old feet, especially my toes. All these years of wearing narrow toed shoes had rendered my feet really old! So, I bought these shoes and I am now a convert. They are terrific for letting your toes expand while walking. They're cool with really grewat air flow over the toes and walking on gravel which I do a lot of does not seem to impact the bottom of my foot. Big rocks, yes, gravel driveways, no. I also can wear my Yoga Toes with these shoes on so I am getting the best of both worlds in one shoe. You need to invest in your feet as you age and these are perfect and I might say, rather stylish.

Perfect Cross trainer and Walk Around

Posted by Ben on Feb 3rd 2017

I bought these as a minimalist cross trainer and general walking around campus shoe. They'r fantastic, really comfortable, great walking on concrete/asphalt too. I haven't run in them because I don't really run anymore, but these are great!

I recently purchased 2 pair of the Lem Primal and I love them. I have a very wide foot (usually purchase men's D or E width shoes) and was concerned that these may be too narrow. However, they fit great and are one of the most comfortable pair of shoes that I have owned. I will certainly be purchasing more Lem's in the future!

I absolutely love these shoes. I can walk in them all day and my feet don't get tired. As soon as I need new boots, I'm ordering them from Lems. I think this will be the only place I buys footwear from now on! Thank you!

Perfect fit. Wide toe box, Sharp aesthetics, Has worked really well in multiple half marathons. They stay abnormally clean compared to other shoes i've worn. Customer service is a pleasure to deal with. Would highly recommend to anybody who loves a wide minimalist shoe as their everyday and running shoe.

    New sole?

Posted by Karim on Jul 29th 2016

I love my primal2s in black which I've had for a couple of years, they're very comfortable, breathable, and I can wear them all day without even noticing them. This pair seems different, as the balls of my feet hurt after walking in these for an hour. Perhaps the sole has been changed on these? They look great and feel great after putting them on, but this issue leads me to wear these only casually and not for any long treks or running.

These shoes are great! A wide-toebox, minimal shoe with an understated, clean and elegant look. I think they strike a good balance of being a wide, natural-splay shoe without looking weird. They are super light and airy on the feet and the sole is the right blend of protective and tactile. Wish the logo were a bit smaller on the shoe but these come closest to the mark of perfect out of any sneaker I've tried.

    Great shoe, but the strings...

Posted by Jon on Jul 12th 2016

I really like this shoe. I was skeptical of the material when I got them because I had not had a shoe made of similar material before. However, the shoe has held up great and actually washes easier than most shoes I've had in the past. Only stars because I wish I could get longer shoe strings. The strings could be at least 6" longer.

For Plantar Fasciitis survivors. Read this!

Posted by Espen on May 27th 2016

As always i want to give a review based on how much pain relief shoes give me. You see most reviews around based on comfort for healthy people, and doesn't help us with pain much so im gonna do you a favour this time as well. I have the boulder boot during winter, nine2five as casual shoe and now this Primal2. The Primal is the only shoe that has a different outer sole than the rest and i can say that it is even more comfortable than Boulder and nine2five. I wear Lems as casual. As a victim to Plantar Fasciitis i couldn't go with lems for more than an hour at a time at the most. Now im up to 3 hours in Lems so for you that have foot pain, go slow if you're not used to minimalist shoes and over time these will help you strengthen your feet and ankles and gradually youll have less and less pain. Before you go out the door with these i recommend you do some massage with a roller or hard ball under your feet, achilles and deep in your calves as well as stretching your feet, calves and hamstring so you get warm and loosened up which makes your fascia and heel work better with you and not as painful. This way you will have a very good experience with the Primal shoes. When i wore them for the first time it felt like the ground was massaging every part of my foot and it feels really good. A good way to prepare for minimalist shoes also is walking around barefoot as often as you can while home. Slippers and Crocs around the house only weakens your feet and doesn't give your feet the exercise they need. With pain off course, there is a limit so go slow. One last thing people with pain should work on is their strike. Shoes today with elevated heel promotes a heavy heel strike and that's no good when the shock absorbation goes up to your knees and back. Lems shoes will help you to focus on a midfoot or forefoot strike and you will have a pleasurable experience once you got that technique in. Good luck with your recovery. I have had PF for 9 years and finally minimalist shoes like Lems is helping me more than any expensive treatment out there. Cause on injuries is our footwear. Take it seriously.

By far one of the best shoes, I have worn, feel like I am grabbing the earth with my toes, I have high arches and a war injuries to my ankles/feet, this actually help my feet feel better vs more expensive padded models. I wear them daily. Not one to review easily, unless I believe in a product. Ty Lems.

    Primal-2-Eclipse Size 40

Posted by Khanita on May 1st 2016

I bought these shoes right before my trip to China since we were going to do a lot of walking. We walked around the Great Wall, up a mountain and around lakes and these shoes were really amazing. They were very comfortable but allowed me to use my intrinsic foot muscles the way they should be used during walking! The wide toe box was really great for me because I have bunions on both feet so they were never sore afterwards. They were really light and comfortable even though I was hiking maybe 3-5 miles per day. I like them a lot because I am able to see where in my gait I'm actually compensating and trying to fix it at the same time.

    Feet therapy!

Posted by Patti on Apr 29th 2016

After watching the video on the Lems website about the benefits of a zero sole, I decided to try the Primal 2 shoe. After suffering over a year with the pain of capsulitis, I was willing to try almost anything -- and had in fact already experimented with various other brands of shoes and insoles. Within a week of switching to Lems, I was almost free of pain. Also ordered and thoroughly enjoy the Lems Mariner shoes. Highly recommended.

I am so glad I took a chance on these shoes. They are extremely comfortable on my complaining feet! The wide toe box is great and they're great to walk in. Narrow enough in the heel to avoid sliding which is often a problem for me. And they are stinking cute.

    Pain-Free

    Posted by R. T. on Apr 24th 2016

I had been suffering from plantar fasciosis. I had tried many different remedies without success. After I ran across Dr. Ray McClanahan's approach to treatment with correct toes and his recommendation for Lems, I ordered both and only after about three weeks, I have had a major reduction in pain!! I am convinced that Lems are definitely the best way to allow feet to function like they were designed. When I am not going barefoot, I am wearing Lems and correctoes! I also want to give a shout out to Lems customer service! The first pair I ordered was a little too small and customer service was very efficient in exchanging them for the correct size! Keep up the great work!

So far so good :) I don't use the shoes for running so I can't comment of that, but those are some really nice shoes to walk around in. I had to get used to them, as the zero-drop changes the posture and make your whole body makes adjustments so I felt it for a week in my back, but now they are just wonderful. make me feel very free, agile and they are very comfortable. They look good and get good attention.

Most comfortable shoes I've ever owned

Posted by Ren on Apr 23rd 2016

I love, love, love these shoes. They've given me back my walking freedom! No more foot pain at all. Since purchasing my Primal 2s I regularly take walks that last anywhere between 30-60 minutes at a time. This was an impossibility in my last pair of walking shoes - my bunion made walking just too painful. Not anymore. I WILL be buying more Primal 2s in future - no doubt about that.

Posted by Maya on Apr 21st 2016

These shoes are very comfortable--extremely light. It feels like I am not wearing shoes! I have been wearing them more than I expected to. I bought them to be athletic shoes and now I am wearing them for much more because they are so comfy. It took me a little while to get the sizing right--I normally wear a 7.5 to 8 in other shoes and the size 40 has the right fit.

    Great Shoes

Posted by Martin Tsachev on Apr 21st 2016

I was a bit worried if I would get the right fit online, especially as it's not the size I normally purchase but it turned out fantastic in the end. Super light shoes, super comfortable to wear, thick soles so great for everyday use in the city. Only downside I can think of is that the shoe strings are a bit shorter than my preference. I can barely tie them together. I've been wearing almost exclusively barefoot shoes since Oct 2014 and I learnt the hard way to look for shoes with thicker soles after getting chronic pain in my feet. This pair is fantastic for starting with barefoot. I'm quite happy with my purchase and I would definitely recommend Lems Shoes to friends who want to go into barefoot.

My feet and I LOVE these shoes! Every few months I assist an organization on the production team that puts on 3-day courses and work 14-16 hours each day and the vast majority of that time is on my feet standing, and moving chairs and equipment. Normally my feet are killing me after about 10 hours on the first day! .... Then along came Lems Primal 2's! I've now worn the Primal's at 3 of these events and my feet are fabulous andpain free the entire weekend! Thank You Lems!

    Great Shoes, Runs Small

Posted by Russ Davis on Apr 20th 2016

I bought a pair of Stems in October of 2011, and since then I've picked up the Boulder Boot and the Nine-to-Five. Loved them all. These are great shoes, but the Primal 2 size 42 is significantly smaller than the 42 in any of the other models I've owned. I'm continuing to wear them in the hopes that they stretch out or loosen up, but so far it hasn't happened. Overall it's a fantastic shoe, I just wish the sizing was more consistent, it's such a hassle to process returns by mail.

    Hurt my feet

Posted by Natasha Tucker on Apr 19th 2016

I wear minimalist shoes every day. Running, biking and working. These shoes were okay at first, but after an hour or so at work I could tell something was wrong. Right where the bend of my toes on each side hurt SO much. So I didn't wear them for a few days and asked my friends if they had the same issues. They all said they had but it stopped after a week or so. So I just dealt with the pain for a few more days to see if it got better. I didn't. So I got a hold of the warranty dept, since in the note they sent with the shoes bragging about their return policy. Well, folks, don't wear the shoes outside if you think you may have to return them. They said I could send them back to have someone review them, but if I wore them outside, I couldn't return them. I just gave them to a friend, who is having the same issue

    High Arch, not so good

Posted by Kelly on Apr 19th 2016

I have a high arch. I love the shoe design and were them constantly but the top of the shoe constricts my arch in front it is not painful but it is tight at he spot where the tong and laces start. A little more room there and the shoe would be perfect in all ways.

    Excellent foot wear

Posted by Aaron on Apr 18th 2016

I wore out my previous shoes to the sub-sole desperately trying to find a shoe with a sturdy thin sole and wide toe box. There are many minimalist shoes on the market, but for some reason the toe box is always so narrow. The instant I put my foot in this shoe, I was relieved. These are the best shoes I have ever worn and will be purchasing Lems for a long time to come.

I enjoy wearing Lems shoes. The minimal construction and appropriate toe-box width don't constrict my feet as most other conventional shoes have. My feet have strengthened and widened significantly since I started wearing Lems regularly. Thus, I've had to purchase a larger size within just a few months. Had I anticipated this expansion and welcomed relief, I would've initially ordered a larger pair. Additionally, they are very light, comfortable and conservative in appearance. Thank you, Lems.

    Don't Hesitate!

Posted by Nicole on Apr 15th 2016

I am not a shoe person. In fact, my sandals and snow boots were gifts and the last time I purchased shoes was years ago when they were on clearance and I thought it was a good idea to have on hand. Recently I started hiking more and I could no longer wear flip flops with all the loose leaf on the ground and wearing a 28 lb. toddler on my back. I started to do research and every comparison and review I read put Lems first. I was extremely hesitant to buy them. I have no sizing experience since I don't buy shows and I just don't line them in general. I finally decided to just go with it and buy them. I am so glad I did. My feet get squished in traditional shoes since I have worn sandals for the last 15 years at least. They're very comfortable and flexible. I can still feel the ground, though for me it still very much feels like a shoe, my partner got a pair as well and he always wears shoes and he says they're super thin and he feels everything. He loves them as well and is excited to wear them! Absolutely worth the investment. Healthy shoes that protect my feet... and a huge bonus is that we're supporting a small company that cares about its product and customers.

I highly recommend getting a whole 1+ size up than what you usually get. I usually get a 43/44, but for these I find that a 45 is a good fit and that +0.2 width space does help. Other than the sizing issues, I feel that they are closest to giving you a barefoot like feeling without looking out of the ordinary (like the fivefingers) and that they are very comfortable.

    Wonderful shoes!!

Posted by Swimwaters on Mar 30th 2016

I have bunions that don't hurt, but that are beginning to cause other problems with my feet in standard shoes: corn between toes, painful calluses on baby toes, etc. My primary form of exercise is walking at a brisk pace for about 5 miles a day. My shoes were driving me crazy, and I began to look for alternatives. I tried a brown pair of the Primal 2 and loved them so much that I purchased the black pair, too. They have changed my walking enjoyment. Yesterday I walked 8 miles with ZERO discomfort afterwards at all. Yea!!

The Most Comfortable Shoes I've Ever Worn

Posted by Geoff Hickman on Mar 28th 2016

I've recently lost over 40 lbs. from simply walking and eating less food (simple, right?). I LOVE walking. For me, walking is more than just exercise; it's meditation, it's playtime, it's me time. When I say walk, i mean I fucking boogey, 8-10 miles a day. It's no stroll. The LAST thing you want to think abut while walking is your shoes, more importantly, how they hurt, how they don't feel right, how they blister your flippin' feet. I've tried Unshoes hurraches, Nike Solar Soft mocs, New Balance Minimus, Altra's, Merrill Road Glove's, hell, even my classic Vans. nothing felt right. Aches, blisters, ankle pain, you name it. Then I tried these Primal 2's. Perfection. When I'm hauling ass along on the trails, I feel enjoyment, not the shoe. It's as if the shoe wasn't there. Zero drop, wide toe box, It breathes spectacularly, the right amount of cushioning, the right amount of ground feel. I use the brown ones just for walks. Bought the Shade ones for work. Will probably buy the grey ones as well. $95 is on the price-y side but you know the saying, you get what you pay for.

I have bunions which seem to be causing other issues with my feet, especially when taking 6-mile a day walks. These shoes made a real difference. They leave lots of room in the toe box for my toes to wiggle around. No painful rubbing around the heels. And my arch is supported enough so that pronation is no longer a problem. Finished my walk today with energy to spare, and no painful toes.

I am so excited to wear them!
