    Lems got me looking right

Posted by Brandon on Apr 27th 2017

I bought these for work. I am a doctor and work as a movement and soft tissue specialist. Movement is primary for me. I pair these with my Lulu ABC's and nice tucked in polo shirts and they work perfectly. I wouldn't have an issue wearing them with slacks, but generally go a little more fancy for those occasions. Lems was super helpful in helping me decide on sizing based on other shoes I have used, and helped me lock in the color. Very responsive to email and great suggestions. Shipping was on time and a breeze.

    Big and hot

Posted by Alex on Apr 19th 2017

First impression was good, shoe felt great. Looked rather wide and this was the case when I put it on. I have another pair of barefoot style shoe and the lems are much larger. They also make my feet very warm, to the point that around the toe box I have a damp stain from sweat which is pretty gross. Apart from that they're fantastic

The shoes are quite comfortable, however the front upper part of the shoe is so flexible that it began creasing and wrinkling right away. Also, the color is not the darker mocha color I expected based on the photographs. It was more of a caramel color.

    Comfortable and good looking

Posted by Brendyn on Feb 21st 2017

After the death of my Vivobarefoot Black Leather shoes I needed something dressy for Stage Managing a major international Chamber music festival. They survived 12 days of average 16000 steps a day pretty well with no break in period (they arrived just before the festival). I'm mostly really happy with them. They are stiffer than the Vivo's were and I'm hoping that they relax a bit with some more wear. Other than that all good, look good and feel comfortable.

    Great Shoe

    Great Shoe

Posted by Shawn on Jan 31st 2017

I have looked for and tried minimalist and zero drop shoes for many years. I have tried quite a few and have been looking for a good shoe that I could wear to work and also for nice casual attire. Most other shoes have been either too casual looking or too clownish looking. These shoes look great and feel great. Many minimalist shoes either have too little padding/sole or some have too much even I have found. These strike the right balance for me. Now I need to order another pair in another color. Thanks. Great shoe.

Most Comfortable Work Shoes I've Owned

Posted by Jarom Prestwich on Jan 18th 2017

I bought these after much research, and they have been fantastic. The leather is soft, the shoes are light, and they fit my foot very well. I've suffered from plantar fasciitis for several years since a motorcycle accident, and when I started wearing these, I stopped using my orthotics. It feels great (my calves did hurt for a week or so, but they are so much better now, and much less tight). I just hope the sole holds up for a while, as it seems pretty soft.

    Good, could be great

Posted by Alex on Jan 8th 2017

I bought these shoes because I was looking for a zero drop shoe with a large toe box that I could wear to work, and these definitely fit the bill. To that end they work well and, outside a few things I'll mention next, are comfortable. I especially like the nubs on the insert, it feels nice on the bottom of the foot. Two things, however, really hold this shoe back. First is the stitch across the top of the shoe. This forces the shoe to crease in a specific position as you walk, and for my foot that is the wrong position. The corners of the fold end up pressing slightly into my foot. The worst part is definitely the tongue of the shoe. I find it is way too wide, which causes it to wrap around my foot more than normal, and too thick, where I get pressure of some of my foot bones I've never had in a shoe before. This wouldn't be a big deal if the tongue were more independent of the shoe like all my others, but it is actually stitched to the shoe wall shortly after it goes inside the shoe, meaning you can't really slide the tongue left or right to where it is comfortable, you are stuck with it dead center. I think with a few design changes I would love this shoe, but as of now I will only wear it to work in the colder months because I wouldn't find it comfortable to take walk breaks in the warmer months.

One of a kind. A gem.

Posted by Lloyd on Dec 9th 2016

I have never owned dress shoes (or any shoes like these). There was a period of adjustment for my feet, but it was well worth it. The Nine2fives are quite possibly the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. The flexible outsole grips your foot as you walk. Your toes can splay comfortably, the minimum outsole and zero-drop provide a blissful level of comfort once your feet are acclimated to this type of shoe. I find that they also help with my patellar and quadriceps tendonosis issues and make walking more realistic for me. As they are a dress shoe, I can wear them in casual and more formal situations. I have ordered a pair in black. Perhaps lems would consider offering a slightly darker shade of brown to go along with suits. I hope Lems never stops making these!

    Nine2five Mocha First Impressions

Posted by Stephen Fisher on Dec 8th 2016

I've been searching out a nice looking, zero drop, light weight shoe that I can wear everyday for work. Some are quite expensive and others look too much like slippers. The Lem's Nine2five seemed to fit in the right style for the right price niche. I received my Nine2fives on a Tuesday while I was at work and I had my wife open the package. The first thing my kids commented on was how light they were. When I got home and picked them up, I had to agree. I don't even think my zero drop running shoes are this light. I wore them around the house for the evening, but unfortunately couldn't wear them for work on Wednesday (had to wear my clunky shoes with the suit that day). So, today was my first opportunity to wear them all day and I can say, I'm pretty excited. They are light, have plenty of room for my toes to move around, the sole is very flexible, there is no slip on the heal, the tongue has just enough padding and they look great. Even the shoelaces rock. They are round and have a bit of waxiness to them so there was no slippage of the knot. If they hold up over the next year, Lem's will definitely be my go to shoe. I only have two minor issues. I wish the mocha color was slightly darker and I wish they were made in the USA. Other than that, I have no complaints. Lem's customer service has been awesome with answering questions and taking care of me. Bottom line: Give them a go.

Posted by DeeJay on Dec 8th 2016

Pros: These shoes are really comfortable. They are well designed and constructed. I can imagine them taking a beating and lasting a very long time. Cons: I am extremely disappointed with the color. They are much, much lighter than they appear in the photos and while my wife likes the color, I don't like it at all. I'd rather them be a deeper, darker brown. They are a little tight in the toe box as well but I have really wide feet and with the leather uppers, I'm sure it'll stretch a little and I'll be fine. There is enough wiggle room for your toes. They are not as minimalist as I expected which is both good and bad. The good is that they have a more solid construction which makes them more durable. They are flexible and allow your foot to move around. The soles do not give as much feeling of the ground as I am used to. If you want a nearly barefoot experience, this is not the shoe but it will give you a minimalist feel. It's like trying to feel the ground with thick gloves. I can feel but the perception is diminished. Though, based on the comfort, I can be ok with that. Overall, this is a great shoe, just be aware that the color is not what you see in the pictures.

I wearing these to work everyday about 18 months ago. I used to wear wing tip style shoes, expensive ones, because it seemed like protocol, but they hurt my feet and even affected my back. I decided to break the mold and try these Lems Nine2Five shoes. It took a while to get used to the different look, but I've made them my own and it's been so worth it. These changed my life. Imagine walking around the office in your socks, that's what these are like. It feels natural. My feet no longer hurt and neither does my back. I can't imagine going back to the heeled style shoes. Give these a try if you dare to be good to yourself.

I have worn these 9 to 5's for 7 months and found them comfortable, stylish, and durable. A 2 mm split occurred between the sole and the leather along the seam of the little toe area. I sent a photo to Lem's and they shipped me A NEW PAIR OF SHOES! WOW! I am impressed with the Company and the staff. Thank you! Enjoying my second pair even more than the first pair.

I have been wearing the Nine2fives about a month now and have them broken in fairly well. They are very comfortable, and have eased my tendonitis. They are a great office environment shoe, and though they are light and dainty feeling, it is holding up a lot better that I thought it would at first glance. Thank you for a very nice shoe!

    Good, but could be better

Posted by Marlon Van Berkum on Oct 23rd 2016

The shoes are definitively an improvement compared to "normal shoes". However, I don't feel the nine2fives are as great as they could have been. They look quite old, right from the bat. I suggest getting new laces. They feel nice though, although again not as great as could have been. I expected them to be more comfortable.

I love these shoes. They are by FAR the comfiest shoes I've owned as well as the first pair that I feel like were properly designed to match and support the structure of the foot. I managed to get the right size for my feet on my first try as I went with the same size I wear in birkenstocks. These nine2fives fit me like a glove. I've worn them almost exclusively since I received them. I can already tell that it's helped improve my constant low back pain. And I fully plan to buy the boulder boot next. Can't wait! Thank you, Lem! Keep it up!

I had a pair of primal 2, and then my job changed so that I needed something fancier than sneakers. These fit the bill perfectly. They look great with cotton slacks and dress shirts. The leather even takes a shine. Like leather gloves for my feet. Best of all, my toes aren't squished any more and there is no fat heel to get in the way of walking properly. Wish they were made in US. Initial quality seems very good.

I bless the day my friends told me about your shoes. I bought a black pair and was so taken with their comfort that I bought a second, then a third pair. My husband and I recently took a trip to Spain and walked all over Barcelona and Madrid. I know that in my old shoes, my feet would be screaming in pain by the end of the day. With Lem's, I could have gone on for hours more! What a find.

    Perfect Combination of Features

Posted by Gregory Kintz on Oct 2nd 2016

These are the perfect combination of light weight, zero drop, thin soles (not quite as thin as I might like, but durable), and professional looking shoes. I work at a standup desk, and at stand up workstations, so I'm on my feet for long periods and these are very comfortable. I had a pair of work casual "barefoot" shoes from another company and the sole wore out in less than a year. The soles on the Nine2fives are not as thin as "barefoot" shoes, but I am confident that I'll have these for a few years.

Extremely comfortable and look great. I fit in same size as all of my other shoes. I love the 0 drop and although I actually love the thickness of the sole (I thought I wanted to feel the ground even more). That being said I do feel like I'm slapping my forefoot on the ground after moving from heel to toe in a normal walk. Not sure how the design could change to smooth the heel to toe transition and it may be specific to this model. Not enough to prevent me from buying this model again however would appreciate the tweak on the next model. Would also love to hear feedback on this review from Lems. Was considering ordering some boots but curious is they feel the same way (heel to toe/toe slap) before I do

    Good!

Posted by Ek on Sep 9th 2016

Overall these are good. I find that they fit better without the insole. The zero drop is definitely nice...it feels much more natural and comfortable to walk in these shoes compared to shoes with a raised heel. I was expecting the color to be more brown. In most of the pics of the mocha color way, the shoes appear darker than what they actually are. I would say that the pic of the shoes outside up against the brick wall most closely resembles the actual color of the shoes. The other pics give the impression that the color is more brown than it actually is. Despite this, I will still be keeping the shoes!

I've always worn work boots and shoes that protected my feet from harm on the worksite. My feet are WIDE, but I'm very light on them. I weigh 170 lbs and do a lot of walking. Now that I'm older and most of my work is much less physical (I still have my work boots when needed), I started feeling like my feet needed something LIGHT. I scoured the net and found the LEMS 925. They are unbelievably light, flexible and comfortable. They are stylish too and go nicely with my skinny casual get-up. They are sized large and I'm typically somewhere between 10.5 & 11. I bought a 45 and a 44 knowing that one would fit better than the other and kept the 44's, which fit perfectly, no matter what sock I'm wearing. The leather uppers are supple and look good. The soles are very flexible and light. I'm happy!

A Big step in the right direction

Posted by Steve on Jul 15th 2016

I've owned these shoes for a bit over a month and so far, they are durable and comfortable. From what I can tell, they are well made with no obvious future failure points in terms of durability. I ordered them large and tie them loosely and they still hold on to my foot well enough to allow me to even run in them while not confining my toes at all or irritating the top of my foot. They are extremely comfortable. I wear them without the insoles. Even so, I find myself wanting a thinner sole with more ground feel. I see that other Lems models have a thinner sole, but as a naturalist who spends a lot of time in the woods - even on breaks from the office - shoes with any fabric in the upper just don't hold up. I do go barefoot as much as possible and own a pair of Steger moccassins which are beautifully soft (moosehide suede upper, very thin sole with glued on rubber for traction), but sacrifice lots of durability for that ground feel and at a higher price than Lems. I wonder if there is a happy middle ground. Maybe that exists with some of the other models, but I won't buy a shoe with fabric in the upper. One of the reasons I go barefoot is to get the benefits of being grounded (electrically connected with the ground). I know there are shoes out there that try to provide a grounding path through the soles. I haven't tried them and don't know how well they work. I would love for Lems to explore this possibility (both seeing if these is demand and affordable technologies for grounding the foot in a shoe).

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I have very wide feet and most shoes off the high street end up crushing my toes and becoming uncomfortable as the day goes on as I'm on my feet most of the day. Now with the Lems Nine to Fives I get no discomfort at all! They also look perfectly professional. Excellent light weight shoes. I will likely be purchasing a second pair.

I have spent about 10 years in pointy-toe, stiff as heck, uncomfortable dress shoes and finally said enough is enough - although they might not be quite as flashy as some of the more trendy dress shoes - these are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've owned. They send you a card from your feet 'thanking you' for the purchase and I 150% agree, my feet are thanking me every day I wear them. Light, comfortable, open/box toe is unbelievably comfortable and stylish enough for a pair of jeans, dress pants and dare I say/wear them with a suit - they're so comfortable I probably will. Top marks all the way.

    3 phases

Posted by Kyle L on Jun 23rd 2016

These shoes definitely require break in before the comfort sets in. I almost returned them but stuck with them because I really wanted them to work for me and I'm very glad I did. Here are the 3 phases I experienced. 1. Stiff leather and heal slippage. Took a while for me to work up the nerve to wear all day for fear of blisters. Went through a good bit of moleskin. 2. Winds. The dreaded shoe farts every time I stepped with my left foot. No solutions offered by lems. Had to walk on outside of my foot whenever ppl around to keep from making a sbd sound. Tried a sealant along seam on top of shoe with no luck. Finally subsided after 3-4 weeks of some foot and ankle pain from the gait change. I think as a crease formed in the leather. 3. Extreme comfort. I love them now. Very comfortable. Now I get mad if I have to wear another dress shoe. I work on my feet all day and feel good at the end of it. Get lots of compliments on the looks too. Hope they last a long time bc I hate to break another pair in but I would for phase 3. Hope this helps.
