    Men's Nine2Five, coffee/cream

Posted by Jody on Feb 11th 2017

Bought these for my son, who immediately put them on and wouldn't take them off. He said they are the most comfortable shoes he's ever had. No required break-in time, no new-shoe blisters or sore spots. Highly recommend!

    People love this shoe.

Posted by Tracy Kruzic Taub on Oct 29th 2016

Everytime I wear these shoes, someone asks me where I got them because they say they think the shoes are awesome looking. Every time. Men, women, young, old. Look, I thought I was buying orthopedics to fix my feet problem. I didn't think I'd be in the forefront of fashion. I was wrong. BTW, I tried to click five stars, but the damned screen didn't show a bubble for it.

I have been searching for comfortable shoes to wear to work for the past year, and these have definitely delivered. After developing both plantar fasciitis and fallen arches in my feet, I was determined to find a better way to treat the problem than more support (which is what most people think we need to treat many foot ailments), as I could tell that wasn't fixing the problem. And since I just turned 24 a couple of months ago, I knew that I had to think long-term when it came to the health of my feet - I'm going to need them for a long while yet. After researching common foot ailments and the concept of minimalist shoes, I decided to try these minimalist work shoes, and I immediately fell in love with them! I bought a second pair in black within a week of receiving the first pair in coffee&cream. These shoes are so comfortable that I can't even stand to wear any of my other shoes anymore! They all make my feet feel cramped and/or the extra height in the heel (i.e. they are not zero drop) just feels too weird to me now. So, I have also now purchased a pair of the primal2 as well, and I can't wait to try those out. My only complaint would have to be that Lems does not have half sizes, and I know I am not the only one who would benefit from that option. Based on my normal shoe size (7.5 or 8, depending on the brand/type of shoe) and the information about sizing available on the Lems site, I decided to go with a size 40. I was fairly certain the 39 would end up being just a bit too snug, and I think I was right. The 40 is a little too long, but not so much that it causes any problems, and I think the 39 would be just a hair too short. So, if Lems could make half sizes at some point in the future, I am almost positive that a 39.5 would be perfect for me in this style.

    Comfortable and Durable

Posted by Dan on Oct 3rd 2016

My first pair of Nine2Five's have survived walking several miles a day for the past year and a half at work. The only signs of wear are on the soles. I bought another pair just so I have a nicer looking pair for dressier occasions. These are the most comfortable dress shoes I have ever worn.

I purchased my Nine2five pair after seeing them promoted by CorrectToes. I have issues with my big toe after years of wearing football cleats, so I needed a shoe that gave my toes room to spread out. I love my pair of Lems. I wear them nearly every day to work and they look great. My feet have plenty of room and fill good. I will purchase other shoes from Lems in the future.

    Great Shoe! But 1 problem...

Posted by Devin Lehoux on Sep 20th 2016

Best shoes I have ever ever had!!!! One problem, the interior heel has some other fabric instead of the leather around the rest of the ankle. This material is turning all my socks brown. Now I walk around with socks that always appear unclean. Hope this problem gets fixed. Other than that, best shoes ever!!!!

These shoes are comfortable and look good. They work well all day. Well-built. The right amount of dressy and casual for me. The Primal 2s, as others have said, are also the best!

    Finally A Shoe That Works

Posted by Sam on Jul 23rd 2016

It has been a long journey in figuring out why I have been having so much pain in my feet for the past 2 years. The answer: A wider toe box. Lems fits the bill,(or the foot). Together with the Correct Toes, the pain has decreased about 95%. I know that after my foot completely realigns itself to the proper position, I will be completely pain free. The 9to5 is not only super comfortable, but stylish as well. I am soon ordering the 9to5s in black.

    Very comfortable

Posted by Ren on Apr 23rd 2016

I wear these shoes at least 3-4 times a week to work. They are super comfortable with plenty of space in the front so that I can wear my toe-spacers inside the shoes. Until I owned these shoes and my Primal 2s it would always be painful to walk any distance due to a bunion I have on my left foot. I no longer suffer any foot pain at all. Thank you Lems Shoes!

Purchased for work to have something more formal than my pre-Lems Stem Primal shoes. I was surprised these were so much more inflexible...I guess the photos were taken with an extremely worn pair or they put a ton of effort to roll them up (moreso than compared to the Primals). Also the sizing has been kind of strange; they feel big, even with socks on, but I went with the size based on the chart so that my feet wouldn't feel cramped. My feet measured ~25cm, but size 42s feel pretty big (more than 0.3cm larger than my feet).

As nice as their other models

Posted by Espen on Apr 20th 2016

This is my second pair of lems after i purchased my first pair last winter so i obviously went for the boulder boot then. The Nine2five feel the same with the foot shaped toe box and wide midfoot. What attracted me to Lems is the casual look as Altra and Topo Athletic shoes are targeting runners so obviously not something you would wear on a first date. After years and years with foot and knee problems, i have worn nothing but standard training shoes with support and elevated heel, and obviously a narrow toe box, until last winter. I always thought i needed more support and more cushioning for my plantar fasciitis and nothing worked. Talk about living on a lie for 33 years, the wide toe box and flex in the sole made my feet extremly comfortable and they dont even have any support or cushioning, my feet work naturally and my knee pain went down from 70% to 30% in 2 months. If i need dress shoes, im coming back to buy another one in black colour.

These were my first pair of LEMS. The comfort of these shoes is amazing. I'm on my feet for most of the day and when I get home from work my feet feel less fatigued than when I wear my other shoes. The boulder boots are equally comfortable and light weight.

    Fabulous dress/business casual shoes

Posted by Dustin on Apr 13th 2016

These shoes are fabulous dress/business casual shoes. They are very comfortable and shaped well to allow appropriate toe flex and movement. For some of my more formal and business situations, they are not quite fancy enough, but they otherwise work wonderfully (and are especially great for my growing boys' feet)!

    Very nice business shoe

Posted by Karl on Apr 12th 2016

A very comfortable zero drop shoe, though the sole is perhaps too thick to call a minimalist (which I prefer after trying Vivo). The only reason I didn't mark these five stars is that they were a bit too high/thick. I have a relatively narrow foot in the vertical direction and these had a bit too much vertical room in the toe box which caused the leather to crease and dig into my foot as I walked. A cheap thin foam foot liner from the supermarket raised my foot to make these fit great. Just think they could come with two thicknesses of insert to support more of the population. But I wear these shoes a lot to the office and they look very good in out business casual environment. I think they would look fine with slacks and sport jacket too, but might not be suitable for a full suit. Anyway, I would recommend these highly.

Heel counter is too high on an otherwise perfect shoe

Posted by I'm Only Sleeping on Apr 12th 2016

I am giving this shoe five stars even though it is not quite perfect. Love the toe room and width, the zero drop and flexible sole that provides just the right amount of cushion. And I love the look. The heel counter, however, is too high on the size 48 and is very uncomfortable.

    color blind?

Posted by Drew Lehmann on Mar 26th 2016

The most important thing is that these shoes are very comfortable and fit just right. However, the shoes I received were WAY lighter in color than the pictured dark brown on the website. They still look ok, but I was shopping for dark brown shoes and was disappointed to receive a very light brown color that was not even listed as available on their website. They really should updated their website if this is the color they are shipping to every one when you select the dark brown option. The only issue other than color is that the heel strikes a bit stiff and hard compared to something like the Vivobarefoot Ra. The biggest issue with barefoot shoes is typically durability, but I've only had mine for a couple months, so I can't judge that yet.

I've been wearing these Nine2fives to work for about 6 months, and I love them. They are strikingly comfortable, professional, and are holding up well. We all know that they are not girlish, but I gladly make this tradeoff, as my feet and back are happy again. I waffled about the price, sure. But I am so pleased with this original purchase, that I bought the Mariner, and then the Boulder boot.

These were my husband's first minimalist shoes. I encouraged him to make the switch, and he is so happy he has. He is a teacher, which means he is on his feet all day. He used to come home with stiff, achy legs, but even after one day of wearing these, he said his legs felt great. And these shoes work wonderfully in the business casual dress code of his school.

I need a wide toe box due to a foot injury. These shoes meet my needs for a comfortable shoe that gives my toes plenty of room, while looking professional enough to wear to work - which is just what I needed. No, they probably won't look fashionable with a skirt, but they can pass as a dress shoe with slacks. I wish there were more minimalist shoes designed for the professional woman. The lack thereof makes me appreciate the Nine2five even more. I will order these shoes again.

    NOT FOR ICE!!

Posted by Matti Panula on Feb 29th 2016

My first pair had white soles and were fine, however these new black nine2fives are not really suited for temperatures below 0 C, 32 F. The sole becomes hard and incredibly slippery on any icy surface. The first pair I own already has broken leather in the in heel after some 6 months of use (repairable I suppose). The EU size 44 feels like 43 and 45 like 44. Still all in all the best compromise between casual look, protection and barefoot I've seen (just get the white soles for winter).

I also have the Boulder Boot and this shoe seems a little wider than the boots (both were a size 46). All in all - this is the perfect shoe for the business day. I am extremely happy to have found them and hope they make your feet as happy as they have made mine.

I look forward to walking around and standing all day when these are on my feet, comfortable and breathable. They have the added benefit of being able to run in a pinch.
