9.9oz. Lightweight Packable Boot
WORLD'S MOST PACK-ABLE BOOT

Finding boots that are ultra-minimalist, featuring a wide toebox, lightweight form, and zero-drop design is more difficult than locating the infamous Sasquatch…but why?  Where is the minimalist boot that is the natural shape of the human foot; a boot that brings your feet closer to the earth with a barefoot design; a boot so lightweight that it cuts down on ounces more than this week's fad diet; and a boot that has a wide toebox with more open space than the state of Kansas? Well, guess what, Dorothy? Welcome home!

We here at Lems Shoes believe that you don't need to be some environmentalist who survives on organic granola and berries to know that going natural can have its benefits, which is why we bring you the Boulder Boot - a barefoot boot that has all of the natural features you’ve been searching for all while promoting healthy foot development, better balance, increased mobility in the feet, legs, and back AND helps to alleviate certain foot ailments such as bunions and hammer toes. If you're ready for a 9.9oz boot (size 43) that can pack down into the smallest of daypacks or carry you on the farthest of Sasquatch searches, then it’s time you rock the Boulder.

    Boulder boot

I love these boots! Nice and light, plenty of room in the toe box for correct toes, and they're comfortable as bedroom slippers. I hope they wear well!

    What I've been looking for

Posted by Daniel on May 4th 2017

I've switched myself over completely to barefoot style, zero drop shoes over the last year. The one missing piece was a boot that I could wear while doing yard work. Everytime I put on my old work/hiking boots my feet would hurt. These boots fit the bill pretty much perfectly. They offer the protection I need while giving me the barefoot shoe fit and feel. It would be nice if the eventually came out with a version without lining that breathed better for when summer hits. I would buy a pair once the came out.

Super comfy but could use a tougher sole

Posted by Russell on Feb 16th 2017

I love these boots, get tons of questions and compliments on them and they were incredibly comfortable right out of the box. My issue is that I have only had these shoes four months and the soles are starting to disintegrate. Some of the lugs in the tread have chunked off and other areas have cracks in them. I understand these are minimalist shoes and that's a big reason why I like them but I think it's reasonable to expect a $115 shoe to last at least a year. These things would be so perfect if they had a vibram sole along the lines of a new balance minimus. That would make them a bit tougher and grippier without adding much bulk.

    I can't live without them.

Posted by Nathan Ciszek on Jan 21st 2017

I've been a full time barefooter for over 4 years. But extreme conditions and employers prevent me from being barefoot 100% of the time. I can't wear regular shoes because my feet are thicker and wider from going barefoot. And I need to walk as nature intended in order to stay healthy after two spinal fusion surgeries. There wasn't much of an answer until I found Lems shoes. The Boulder Boots are great, I just wish they were waterproof. Besides for that, they do the job and keep my stride healthy and natural. They feel like barefoot slippers. I'm a customer for life. I don't mind paying extra for waterproofing.

    Love My Lems!

Posted by College Student on Nov 7th 2016

Very stylish, very comfortable. Not waterproof, but lightly resistant. If it rains, like it does all the time here on in the PNW, I don't have to worry about my feet getting wet. They won't submerge, but they get the job done. We shall see how they hold up over time, as I have noticed already some wear and scuffs on the sole. I fully believe that these things will hold their own. Would recommend if you like the minimalist style and feel. My feet are still a bit sore from getting used to them, but I don't wear them everyday so it may be taking longer to compensate. Anyway, great shoe. More of a shoe, than a sturdy boot.

    Worth it!

Posted by Julie on Nov 7th 2016

I'm so glad I bought these boots! I was waiting a while because I have so many pairs of boots at home and wasn't sure I needed another one, especially at this price point. After volunteering at a kids camp for a weekend though, I realized I needed a more quality pair and decided to give Lems a try. I spent most of the weekend at camp outdoors in the rain, frost, grass, and mud, and was constantly climbing, walking, running, etc. The entire time my feet were comfortable, dry, and warm, which is surprising considering a) how cold it was and b) the socks I wore with them usually make my feet sweat in other boots. I can't recommend these enough.

    Awesome boots

Posted by Dustin Leblanc on Nov 3rd 2016

I couldn't be happier with these boots. The style is a little quirky I'll admit. I wear them every day. The extra wide toe box is phenomenal for anyone with wide feet. They are nice and light like a pair of chuck taylors without the horrid narrow toe box. The thickness of the sole seems just right, enough to protect you while walking on rough surfaces while being thin enough that you get some ground feel. I wear mine with the laces pretty much all the way undone with the ends tied off so it functions like a slip on. They stay put on my foot without issue. I'd love to get a set of these with a bit more traditional style to them, but these quirky boots are going to be on my feet almost everyday from here on out until I wear them out.

I bought these boots just before leaving on a 3 month long back packing trip around the world. I love the boot's versatility and packing efficiency. In reality I could have only packed these boots and no other shoes. I have been very pleased with the boots in the alps and as a casual stylish boot for the city. This is the only boot you need!

Finally a shoe that helps, not hurts

Posted by Tracey on Oct 23rd 2016

I have a condition causing nerve tumors all down my left leg, Schwannomatosis. I have worn the usual gamut of shoes-tennis, janes, hiking boots, crocs. All cause discomfort. Because they are unnatural! The best way to relieve pain is to work your body as it's designed. (Heard of a squatty potty yet?) :) I am loving the boots!!! I've worn them everyday since I got them a few weeks ago. They are tough, dry, cute, and feel great. I think my foot, ankle and legs are getting stronger and more balanced too. Thanks Lems!!!!!!

On more serious note, those are lightweight, minimalistic and surprisingly warm boots with cool looks attached Ability to Correct Toes inside is also extremely valuable for my feets (not so flat anymore actually). I will update if my feet survive russian winter in those boots =)

Love these boots. Was looking for something to walk around the trail roads and pastures when the weather is cooler. I like the protection they give my ankles from poison ivy, etc. They are super lightweight and very roomy in the toes. Will have room for heavy socks in the winter. I got the same size as my primal shoes and these feel a little bigger in the toes which is what I needed.

    Great shoes.

Posted by Andrew on Oct 15th 2016

Honestly these are the best shoes I've ever worn. I've always been barefooted when ever I can but living in MN can get a little cold. These shoes are the closet thing to bare feet that will also keep your toes warm (with a good pair of socks) while also looking like a nice civilized decent pair of shoes. They hold up well. I'm on my second pair after 2 years on one and plan on getting more as the years pass. Only thing I would recommend is a coloring that looks more dressy and stylish or maybe an all leather pair. And also it would be sweet to have waterproofing. All in all great pair of shoes.

The only disappointment I feel is in the fact that I can't rate these boots higher than 5 stars. I had my eye on the Boulder Boot for over a year but was wary about ordering online, as I am about shoes in general; I hemmed and hawed about whether or not to splurge on more shoes. If you are having this internal struggle, as I did, let it go and get these boots. They've already become my favorite shoe in the few short weeks I've had the pleasure of wearing them. They are awesome for many reasons: *Comfy as all get out! *Wide toe bed for wiggle room and natural toe-splay which is a great repreive from wearing dress shoes at work all day AND I can wear them with my thick wool socks. *Lightweight and bendy - especially important for the long walks we take our dog on, super cute because who said we need to sacrifice style for comfort? *I've worn them on a lightly-rainy dog walk and, though they are not advertised as weather proof, my feet stayed warm and dry. *Learning to field compliments like a pro - everywhere I go, these boots catch someone's eye. Those are just a few, but to sum up - the boulder boot is the best everyday shoe, hands-down (or hands up, if you're celebrating how much you love your Lems!)

OK....I got my Lems Boulder Boot Timber a month ago, but just started wearing them yesterday and I'm already in love! First of all, they are SUPER comfortable and I DO feel really grounded and stable. I went out last night and it was raining and I was so impressed that my feet stayed warm and dry. I love these boots. I'll have more to say about them with more use, but so far so good and I'm about to order another pair of Lems shoes and give away my shoes that have cramped my toes for years. Thanks Lems for making these! love the light weight-ness of them AND that they are vegan. Rock on!

    Nothing short of perfect

Posted by Samuel lacher on May 30th 2016

My job requires us to wear closed toe shoes, and as someone getting into the minimalist shoe movement, this makes finding decent shoes difficult. I tried Fivefingers for a couple weeks only to quickly see that their lack of ankle covering constantly allowed things to fall into them and cut up my toes. This was very problematic, making it clear that I needed boots. After searching online for boots that boasted all the features of a minimalist shoe, I come acrost the Boulder boot. I can easily say that these are the best shoes of any kind that I have ever owned. You would not believe how much of a difference the flat sole and wide toe box make. While going to work with my hiking boots, I would come home with pain in my heels. After wearing Boulders, I have never had that problem. My toes are no longer squished together, I have plenty of wiggle room, and my toe splay is now very healthy and natural. All the foot form issues that come with the fit and structure of nonminimalist shoes are both absent and reversed. With a fit that benefits your foot health and feels better than a slipper even without the insole, you can't go wrong with these. Despite me favoring function over form, the dislike for my fivefingerŐs look from others rubbed off onto me. The initial excitement to tell everyone about them died off quickly with the weird stares and mutterings of how stupid they look. Not only do the Boulders look like a normal boot, but they are very stylish! They have the perfect balance of dressiness and ruggedness, allowing me to wear them on the sales floor, out in the mulch lot, and even my graduation ceremony. There is no place where these look out of place. The bottom line is that these boots have fulfilled everything I need in a shoe. I have had a great experience with these, and there's no reason that you shouldn't. Based on how they're wearing so far under the load I put them through, I'd anticipate these boots to last me two years.

    True barefoot boot

Posted by Thomas on May 16th 2016

This is my second pair of Boulder boots and my third pair of Lems. And I really love them! They look good and are comfortable as no other boots I've ever tried. If you're looking for a real heavy duty hiking boot - then this is probably not the boot for you. Otherwise I strongly recommend them! Since I ordered my first pair a little over a year ago, I think there has been some changes. The quality is now higher but be careful with the sizing and be sure to measure your feet and compare to the chart. My first pair was size 42 but with the new pair I had to return a size 42 for a size 43. But customer service was really helpful and my new size 43 fits perfect.

So i am a big guy (pushing 390) and i have always been in the thickest soles, with the hardest rubber, with the tightest laces and ankle braces, and supports, and insoles, and extra thick socks, all to just try to get my back to stop hurting, and my feet, and ankles, and knees. None of it ever worked, in fact most of that probably made it worse. I got these on a whim after reading up quite a bit on my flatish feet and what a lot of places recommended getting shoes that are as flat as possible, with enough room for your toes to move around, and not a lot of cushion. every time i searched 0 drop shoes, lems were the first to pop up as best, or favorite, or most recommended it turns out i have to agree with every good thing i have heard about them. I have had no foot pain, ankle pain, knee plain, nor back pain since i started wearing them. Prolonged periods of standing and walking no longer cause debilitating pain in my back and ankles. (the need to sit down for at least 15 to 20 minutes just to be able to stand up straight) My ONLY beef's, are that they are a bit more than i usually spend, and because they are a tad warm, im going to have to buy a pair of the shoes, also a bit more than i usually spend, however after all the years of buying and trying hundreds of pairs of other shoes, ill gladly pay it until they DO cost less.

These are great shoes. I bought them to replace my old pair of Merrell Barefoot Power Play gloves which Merrell no longer makes. The Lems shoes are a good alternative, though I do miss the vibram sole a little from the Merrell's. I haven't gone hiking (yet) in these, but I'm confident they'll hold up for a day hike. I found they chafed a little at first until I started tying them differently, and now they fit perfectly. There's plenty of room in the toebox, which is important to me. I bought (and returned) a pair of Vivobarefoot hiking boots because they didn't have enough room for my toes to move. The brown color is great, though I half wish I'd purchased Timber instead... those look amazing, but I went with boring. Perhaps next time, because there will be a next time! I can easily see myself buying another pair when (if) these wear out.
