Finding boots that are ultra-minimalist, featuring a wide toebox, lightweight form, and zero-drop design is more difficult than locating the infamous Sasquatch…but why?  Where is the minimalist boot that is the natural shape of the human foot; a boot that brings your feet closer to the earth with a barefoot design; a boot so lightweight that it cuts down on ounces more than this week's fad diet; and a boot that has a wide toebox with more open space than the state of Kansas? Well, guess what, Dorothy? Welcome home!

We here at Lems Shoes believe that you don't need to be some environmentalist who survives on organic granola and berries to know that going natural can have its benefits, which is why we bring you the Boulder Boot - a barefoot boot that has all of the natural features you’ve been searching for all while promoting healthy foot development, better balance, increased mobility in the feet, legs, and back AND helps to alleviate certain foot ailments such as bunions and hammer toes. If you're ready for a 9.9oz boot (size 43) that can pack down into the smallest of daypacks or carry you on the farthest of Sasquatch searches, then it’s time you rock the Boulder.

    Raven boots

Posted by Brad on May 25th 2017

Needed a nice, light, comfortable pair of leather boots for my new job working for the USPS. My first few weeks I thought I'd wear my old steel toe boots and found that's nearly impossible. These have bounce to them and I can jog door to door with packages. They've been the most comfortable boots I've ever owned, been wearing them everyday for over a month. There's no break in period, atleast for me. Oh, and because I'm outside every day, with all the rain we've had lately, I'm noticing my socks stay dry. I've got some heels in them because the souls of my feet ache, which may help with comfort, but I've been thinking about taking them out because I don't think it'll make a difference tbh. The wider toe is awesome too, I've decided to wear them outside of work, they've replaced my sneakers. I just hope they hold up for awhile! Great all around. Happy I bought them.

    leather Boulder boot

I own two pairs of lems and they are both boulder boots. the first pair I used to train for climbing Mt Rainier so they saw a lot of use in a short time. not once did my feet hurt while wearing these boots and they still have a lot of miles to give. those were the non leather version because they weren't available yet. the leather pair is just as comfortable and while I've only had them for a month or so, they appear to be as durable if not more. because of my good experiences with these boots, I will definitely be purchasing my next pair of shoes from lems

    Close to perfect

Posted by Jim on May 20th 2017

I purchased the leather boulder boots in a size 46. My feet are about 4.75" wide at the balls. These are narrower than that but they are working better than anything else I've tried so far. As great as they are it would be nice to be just a little wider, it looks like they come 2e width but do not offer a 4e (not that anyone else really does either). Other than the width they're about the best thing I've worn. Super light, flexible and still a little bit of a cradling/supporting sensation around the feet and ankles. I'm an HVAC system installer and I've been working in them for a few weeks now. My feet feel a lot better since I started wearing them. I was wearing lightweight flat chuck-style shoes before. In my work I'm constantly up and down stairs, in and around attics and crawlspaces and sometimes up roofs. These do very well and I don't see any problematic wear so far. The stitching around the toes does absorb water in the rain but otherwise they do pretty well walking through wet grass etc. I'm going to try sealing the seam with beeswax sometime soon. So far I'd recommend them. Would be great to have a 4e width but these are flexible enough and the actual shape of the toe box accommodates my outside toes much better than anything I've worn. I can feel my toes separate as I step which is exactly what I wanted.

    Nearly perfect

Minimalist, boot design in black leather, all good there - as I need black leather shoes for my desk job, and black leather boots for my bartending job! Red laces are nice, though can't wear these due to my day job being office / sales work... Though the included black laces are great. Super comfortable, and incredibly flexible for a boot! No problems with ankle soreness or anything like that, these really feel great even after extended use. My ONLY gripe is that they don't look very good for my taste, and for professional environments (I am definitely NOT a fan of the upward stitching on the toe)... If there was a BOOT DESIGN with the TOE similar to the Nine2Five shoe, I would buy that in a HEARTBEAT.

    Fantastic Street Wear

Posted by Morsey on Apr 15th 2017

I wear these boots mostly while working as a bouncer. I spend long hours on wet tile and concrete flooring. I found the fit and comfort to be spot on from day one. These are not certified "slip resistant" but I found them stable enough to wrestle drunks out of the bar on a slick wet floor. I will be purchasing the fabric boots for summer work wear. Well worth the money.

    Painfully uncomfortable

Posted by Alex on Feb 22nd 2017

I've been wearing barefoot shoes for years, and was looking for something that looks formal to wear to my job as a bartender. These were very comfortable for the first five minutes, but became worse as the day wore on. The constant pressure on the area above the ankle (as it is a boot) combined with one very mobile angle at the ankle, made for a peculiar situation that my feet absolutely loathed. Movement felt very restricted and unstable (my legs refused to break into a jog on the way to the subway), and by the end of the night my Achilles area was in significant pain. My feet felt less free than even in my Frankensteiny Skechers steel-toed shoes. My heel also feels like it's going to roll inward, and ankle flexion is very limited. Two stars because they look great.

I really like these boots. Request 1 uprade though.

Posted by Dave on Feb 18th 2017

I really like these boots, they were comfortable from the first moment I put them on. I use them most to play disc golf in Oregon where it stays fairly wet. Puddles up to 3-4" deep and my feet stay dry, however deeper than that and water starts to seep in. After slipping and falling on my back on a steep clay hill my only complaint is the tread. If there was an option for a more aggressive tread (like Altra's trail running shoes) I will be a customer for life. I would even be willing to pay extra for a more aggressive tread option.

    Boulder Boots Leather Raven

Posted by The Best Boots Keep Getting Better on Jan 25th 2017

I own a pair of timber boulder boots which are the most comfortable boot I have ever worn. Like other reviewers I spend a lot of time in boots and when it comes to comfort and casual wear they are my goto boot. I wanted to add a dressier look with the all leather and Lems hits the mark again. They are a bit stiffer but that is because they are all leather. Besides that they fit and feel just like my other boots...best boot on the planet for comfort!

    Most comfortable boot I've purchased

Posted by Tyge on Jan 17th 2017

This is hands down the most comfortable boot I've purchased. I've owned Salomon, Asolo, Keen, and many others over the years, and these are by far the most comfortable out of them all. I have a few other pairs of zero drop, minimalist, wide toe box shoes, and these Lems Boulder boots are the most comfortable. The 9mm stack height helps with my occasional heel strike but also allows me to feel the ground. Traction so far has been great in wet grass, dirt, and pavement. The boots are incredibly light weight yet feel very well constructed. The heel cup is perfect with my heel being held securely while the toe box allows my toes to spread and flext in comfort. I wear a size 13US and the size 47 fits perfectly for length. Now if I could only get the Primal 2 in 47...

    Leather Boulder Boot in Raven

Posted by Robert Lipe on Jan 16th 2017

This is my 4th pair of Lems and I am just as impressed with this pair as I have been with all the others. I spend a fair bit of time outside at night in various weather conditions and so far they hav kept my feet warm and dry doing my rounds. I did apply a coat of good quality water proofing and leather conditioner to the boots prior to wearing them. I do have one observation about the boots though. They do not have a lot of traction on icy pavement or water slick surfaces such as wet grass. This is a very minor complaint though and maybe an area for future improvement on an almost perfect product.
