PRIMAL 2 VS. PRIMAL 3 OVERVIEW

Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Engineered with a new, low profile, rubber tread that combines the best of both worlds: ample traction on trails, AND excellent durability on pavement.

RUGGED UPPER

The upper is made of durable materials that stand up to the abuses of trails, and also daily wear and tear.

LOW HEEL DROP

With 4mm of drop, compared to the traditional 12mm of drop, the Trailhead naturally decreases heel-striking for a more natural gait and healthier posture.

FIRM CUSHIONING

When your foot is on too soft of cushion, you end up with pain and discomfort. We've formulated a firm EVA midsole that'll keep your feet happy all day long.

Not in love yet
I’m not sure If it’s my small, wide feet (ordered size 6 and had to size up to 6.5) or my weird ankle bones- but I ordered two pairs of Lems based on a co-workers review and my sister loving hers, too. I have been a Blundstone girl through and through and thought I would branch out for a low cut work shoe (I run a landscape business that operates in all weather). Both these and the Boulder Low boot seem to be plenty roomy in my toe box, but scrape on the back of my ankle and cut off circulation when I tie them tight enough to not feel loose… I would return them, but I’ve worn both pairs once or twice to try them out at work. I don’t think these are for me.

Love my LEMS!!!
My feet are on the narrow side. Normally wear an 8.5 but heeded the advice from reviews and ordered a size 9.
Trailheads fit absolutely perfect out of the box, with or without socks. No break in time required. Comfortable, supportive insole. Orange soles can’t be beat! Durable laces. Subtle yet colorful color combo.
Perfect kicks for dog walks and my desert lifestyle 👌🏻
