Get Back to Our Origins

We here at Lems Shoes don't always wear shoes, but when we do we choose the Primal2. If lightweight (6.9oz), flexible, breathable, foot-shaped, and flat are all characteristics that you look for in footwear, than look no further than this shoe. The Primal2 is assembled using a no-sewn construction, which allows the shoe to comfortably form to the natural shape of your foot. Lightweight microsuede and open-weave mesh, allow your foot increased airflow and better breathability. The low-profile 8.0mm LemsRubber sole brings you closer to the ground for a more natural stride. Our LemsLast design, with its natural foot shape, provides you with that Feelgood Fit that we pride ourselves on. So whether at work, walking the dog, or running errands, the Primal2 is certainly the 'go to shoe' for you.

Rating Comfortable
These shoes will give your foot muscles a workout. My feet have strengthened over the past couple of months. First week I was not able to stabilize while swinging a golf club because of the weakness of my foot muscles from wearing restrictive traditional shoes. Now I can go all day. Downside is I all my other shoes feel like a cast so I don't wear them anymore.

Think of a pair of comfy slippers. Now combine that with a do-anything shoe with a super-breathable upper. That's pretty much what these shoes are. I have pretty narrow feet, but these shoes are able to adequately hold my feet in place, and have a toe box that really allows my forefoot to splay and move normally. I've tried a lot of minimalist shoes, and while they all have their good and bad points, the thing that sets these shoes apart is that they are ridiculously comfortable.

Rating Shoes that will set your feet free
I wanted a shoe that would keep my foot dry and cool during summer heat. And that's exactly what they did. So, I got exactly what I wanted. However, I got a something extra as well. While wearing them I noticed that my feet are less tired. Whenever I wear them I tend to "jump around" and be more active. These are the shoes that will literally "set your feet free".

I was looking forward to receiving these shoes here in the UK and I'm not disappointed. They're exceptionally comfortable, light and well ventilated. I've noticed that when wearing them my toes are really relaxed - and I didn't even realise that they were tense in my other shoes. I love them!

Rating Finally, a Durable Wide Minimalist Shoe!
I run, hike, do farm stuff and live everyday in them. Cold washer &(smell)best if I pour a little detergent in each shoe.Gonna buy another pair to keep as "good" shoes for going out on the town.I've had these about a year and there is some minor separation on the footbed area but not enough to warrant fixing just yet. I do abuse these on/off road and they see some farm use. I hate to wear anything else. Never been so happy about a pair of shoes.

Rating Mens Primal 2s: Yes, you can run in them
I've had my primal 2s for about 100 mi, and am extremely happy with them. They're my first minimalist shoe, bought on the strength of a review by ChiRunning founder Danny Dreyer of the original primals. It took me two runs (8.0 mi and 5.5 mi) before I adapted my running form to these shoes, but since I've run 8.0 to 13.1 miles in these shoes on packed dirt and gravel without issue. They fit true to size. I love the wide toe box,the breathability of the uppers, and the road feel.

Rating Best Shoe I've Owned
These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever bought. The toe box is super wide and allows your toes to really spread out.

Rating Great Feel
I was looking online for a type of footwear that provided something natural, minimal, and room for my toes to breath. Kind of like my NB minimalist trail shoes but more ideal for everyday use. Lem's primal 2 feels great on my mildly flat, somewhat wide feet. Highly breathable design make these shoes feel great if you leave them on for 10+ hours. However, because its a minimalist design, standing flat footed in one place for too long will hurt your heels.

Rating Best casual minimalist shoes
I was looking for something that looked good, more or less like normal shoes that i can wear to work and just around town, nothing too fancy. These deliver. Great wide toe box, flat, decently cushioned yet super flexible so great ground feel. Highly recommended.

These are pretty nice shoes. I wear them every day to work. I am a salesman in a big box store so I walk around on concrete for several hours a day. I have been wearing minimalist shoes for about four years now. The main thing I love about these shoes is that I did not have to adjust the laces at all to get them to fit my wide foot. All the other minimalist shoes I have had are still more narrow than I would really like, but not these. The Primal 2 is a comfortable, light, wear all day shoe.

Rating Best thing ever!
I LOVE my Lems. The roomy, rounded toebox is my favorite, especially that the laces can be snug around my instep, but it doesn't change that roominess. It's November, so the mesh is a little drafty, but it's going to be amazing in summer. Looking forward to some Boulder Boots one day! So glad you guys exist!

Rating Great Shoe
I have had a few pairs of minimalist shoes for casual wear before. I especially liked the look of these. These may very well be the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I personally removed the lining for the extra room. My initial criticism was that I didn't love the look of the mesh on top but I ate my words pretty shortly. The breathability it introduces to the shoe is great. I wear these almost every day and often ride my bike with them. You can feel the breeze come right through.

Rating Not as good as original STEMs were
My lovely soft old STEMs started wearing out and I ordered a pair. I'm disappointed rather than satisfied. Primal 2 more clunky and puffy. Wider sole in the heel, higher heel cap, insole - things making them worse. I wear them without insole, because with it I do less feel ground and starting heel-strike. But witout insole they bigger than I need, I should be using one size down. Old STEMs please come back into shoe line!!! Perhaps good after traditional shoes, but ugly if you ever tried STEMs.

Rating My Favorite Shoes
I have an original pair of Stems (look like primal 1) and they've lasted longer than I ever expected. I tore a tendon in my toe and since switching to these, my feet and ankles are stronger than ever. These shoes really make a big difference in your quality of life. I highly recommend. You have to get used to them, but once you do take out the insoles and wear them full time.

Rating feel the breeze!
Ordered these for work shoes and they are fabulous! Definitely more rugged/utilitarian looking than pretty but super comfy; great "ground feel" and, best if, I can feel the breeze on my toes! Only issue was the tongue of the shoe hit my ankle at an uncomfortable angle -- most likely because I have super high arches. Taking the laces out of the top hole solved this problem completely. All in all, very happy with this pair of shoes.

Rating Nice upgrade
The all-new Primal 2's are a nice upgrade to the original Stems & their second-generation Lemings. The soles remain unchanged while the tongue is thicker & bears the Primal 2 name. The excessive stitching on the shoe has been removed & the lace loops replaced with traditional eyelets. The heel cup is more stiff & now sports the Lem logo. These are ULTRA-COMFORTABLE shoes! If you like minimalist footwear, you will NOT be disappointed in the purchase of this shoe.
