Description

Weighing a mere 9.9oz (size 43), the Boulder Boot is arguably the lightest boot in the world.  The upper of theBlack Boulder Boot is made of 100% water-resistant nylon to keep away moisture and keep weight down.  The whole boot is completely collapsible, great for stuffing into a pack during a hike and wearing around the campfire afterwords.  There's absolutely nothing to this boot, no heel counter, no toe counter, no shank, and nothing stiff that would irritate the foot.  If a barely-there boot is what you're in need of, look no further.

FAQ's

Q: Is it waterproof?
A: No it's not waterproof.  We chose to leave out a waterproof membrane because they sacrifice breathability.  The upper is treated with a DWR water-resistant coating.  When this begins to wear off, we suggest treating the nylon and leather with a spray on Scotchguard, Nikwax, or something similar.
Q: Is it vegan like the original shoe?
A: Yes the Black Boulder Boot is made of all vegan materials.
Q:  Returns?
A: We accept returns for 60 days.  For exchanges we will actually ship out the replacement free of charge.  See our Easy Returns page for more info.

Trekking in Nepal

Trekked the Annapurna circuit last November wearing the Boulder Boots; no blisters and it was great to feel the ground beneath my feet. Not great in wet snow but what boot is (might I suggest making a model using breathable material like "Gortex".I would be more than willing to test them for you.

I have three different Lems models. Boulder Boot - Good fit & comfortable, but noticed bad fraying on the top portion of the shoe after the 1st use. The threads seems to fray very easily on this particular model.

One of the best casual paleo shoes

I have been wearing paleo shoes for 2 years. I have 3 pairs of shoes from vivo barefoot and 1 Lems. I love those because they are very soft and confortable. Also they look good, I really love the strong black color. The aeration is very good, bus as a consequence the shoes are not waterproof. I use it every day for my job.

Great Boots

I bought these boots for work - never having worn minimalist shoes before. I'm standing on concrete all day at work - and my feet don't hurt at all! I was quite surprised by that. I've noticed a problem with fraying material around the seams; but I find that it's easy to clean up using a lighter to burn off the loose strands. I really like the fact that these boots are the same material all the way around and not trimmed with faux leather like the others. Will definitely by these again.

Amazing boots with one tiny problem

I LOVE these boots. They are comfortable, light and, unlike everything else on the barefoot shoes market, actually attractive. These boots are actually wide enough for me to fit my foot in, even with correct toes on. This is normally impossible for me to find. The problem is that the seams around the toes are fraying badly, and have been since around a month of wear. So far it looks to be only cosmetic and I hope that's the case because it would be such a pity if these babies fell apart on me.

Warm and comfy!

These boots are everything that they say they are. I need a low heel due to a back injury and I couldn't be happier, these boots are perfect in comfort and in style. All my friends think they look great! Now I wish they made them in a safety toe so I could wear them to work!

Great Work Boots

I have had these boots for about 2 and a half months now. So far I love these boots. The feel great on my foot. I did have to remove the insole as I have a tall foot. They have held up very well as my everyday and work shoe. This is about my only pair of shoes I have worn in that 2 and a half months. I am on concrete and ladders all day and my feet feel great at the end of the day. Thank you Lems for making a boot with a wide foot bed and some decent insulation for the winter in Nebraska.

Most excellent overall. I have had problems with my left foot for years due to plantar fasciitis and these boots have allowed me to walk free from pain. The boots good looking, comfortable and flexible. Most importantly, they are warmer and more waterproof than the pair of Vibram 5 fingers that I had been wearing. My only very minor complaint is that the laces provided could have been longer. I had to buy a set, but this is due mostly to the odd shape of my feet.

Great boots but seams are fraying

I love these shoes! I have the boots and primal 2 shoes. The seams on the boot at the toes are fraying really bad. I will have to trim it with scissors or something. Other than that I love these shoes. I will try ordering a pair of the shoes with leather uppers to avoid this. I would still recommend these to everyone. BTW I have the black all vegan model... this could be the reason for the fraying...

Swiss Army Boot

This versatile boot is great for work, hiking, construction, dinner out, in a light rain, with pants, or with shorts. Does it all in style and comfort while allowing your foot to be natural. The plaid interior and metal eyelets with 'Lems' on them are nice design details. The sole is firmer than the Primal 2 ones. Get a pair..."do it, do it."

Awesome Minimalist Boot

My Boulder Boots have been my go to winter shoe & are the most comfortable boot that I have ever worn! As light as they are it is amazing how durable and warm they are. Temps were down to zero here in Indiana & simply wearing some regular wool socks kept my feet warm all day! Thanks for making such an awesome product for those of us who have discovered the healing power of minimalist living! Your product is right at the top of my list for awesome & comfortable minimalist shoes!

Very Happy

I'm glad I waited to review this. I didn't wear these much at first because the seam across the instep was incredibly tight. Removing the insoles and breaking them in has made them my favorite pair of shoes. I love that my toes can splay in the toebox. Great groundfeel and proprioception, good grip and wear life. Very light shoe feels like I am barefoot, esp. in toe socks. Absolutely consider this shoe if you are in the market. I wear a 10.5 US, bought EU44. Perfect size IMO. (500char not enuf!)

Got the Boulder Boots as a gift. Extremely comfortable and great ankle support. Super light on the feet! Killer kicks for sure! Got the Toe Socks as well... One of them ripped at the seam on the top section of the sock. Quite disappointed as they are cool but made cheap as hell! I'll stick with Smart Wool socks! May not have the groovy toes but they last forever and are just unbeatable! The Lems... Killer boots! Buy'em NOW!

Easily the most comfortable foot ware I have ever owned. I work in construction and even after a 10 hour day on concrete and ladders my feet feel great. 3 month in and the soles are wearing out but I will deffinitly buy the new black version soon. 115 bucks every 6 months is well worth the overall comfort of my body.
